💧 Driving Innovation in the Water Industry 💧 It’s great to see Binnies have secured a place on the Untied Utilities Limited Network Modelling Framework for AMP8. This is a positive step forward for the water industry, bringing fresh opportunities to enhance network performance through advanced modelling and innovative solutions. With sustained pressures around sustainability, climate resilience, and asset performance, frameworks like this are crucial for driving the digital transformation of our water infrastructure. Embracing data-driven approaches and innovative technologies will play a key role in creating smarter, more efficient networks that can adapt to future challenges. Binnies’ involvement covers several critical areas that will deliver industry-wide benefits: - Model maintenance ensures water networks operate efficiently, reducing downtime and extending asset life. - Storm overflow investigations help mitigate environmental impacts, supporting regulatory compliance and protecting natural ecosystems. - Supply and demand assessments enable better resource management, ensuring water security for growing populations. - Rainwater management reduces flood risks and improves climate resilience, safeguarding communities and infrastructure. - Incident investigations drive quicker responses to service disruptions, minimising impacts on customers. - Integrated drainage modelling promotes holistic planning, leading to more sustainable and interconnected urban water systems. By addressing these areas, the framework enhances operational efficiency and supports the industry’s long-term goals for sustainability, resilience, and innovation. I look forward to connecting with stakeholders on both sides to understand the impact of the framework! #water #infrastructure #networkmodelling #sustainability #waterquality #floodprevention #stormoverflow #digitalengineering https://lnkd.in/dtEJC6Tm

Have you tried out the CSFEP Safeguards Toolkit? https://lnkd.in/gm9FpeKq This free tool helps biobased construction projects ask the question "How do I maximize the social and environmental benefits of my project--and minimize any risks?" Project owners can utilize this user-friendly online platform to analyze the impact of project decisions, from forest to frame—identifying where different choices could exponentially improve the climate, social, and environmental impact of a biobased construction project. Project owners can also browse other Safeguard Assessment examples on the platform. The tool was developed in partnership with Climate Smart Forest Economy Program (CSFEP) the Forest Carbon and Climate Program at Michigan State University and Dalberg Data Insights. The tool is still in beta testing, so please reach out (or share below) if you have thoughts on what you would like to see in an updated version. #climatesmartforesteconomy #forest #biobasedconstruction #masstimber #construction #tools #safeguards

The Government of New South Wales (NSW Government) has recently added new mine rehabilitation data to their Sharing and Enabling Environmental Data (SEED) portal. 📊 This data is now on the #SEEDPortal which is among 6000 environmental datasets including climate projections, biosecurity values and vegetation. The new data gives industry members insight into the progress of rehabilitation of large mines but will also collate all new spatial data submitted by mine operators, keeping the #SEEDPortal relevant. Data like this is paramount to the industry as it empowers members with knowledge of what is and what isn't achievable and AMEC applauds the Government of New South Wales (NSW Government) for updating this tool to keep it relevant. 👏 Check it out for yourself ➡️ https://lnkd.in/gAV_cKUP #BiosecurityValues #EnvironmentalData #SEEDPortal #MineRehabilitation #IndustryInsight
