🚨ATTENTION BCBA's®/BCaBA's® Feature Friday presents a pre-recorded CEU available in our shop: 'Preferences Aren’t Ethics – Critically Evaluating Ethical Dilemmas' by Shane T. Spiker, PhD, BCBA. Ever wondered how to discern true ethical dilemmas from mere personal preferences in the realm of behavior analysis? Join us as we unravel the complex art of addressing ethical dilemmas in behavior analysis. Dr. Spiker, with his extensive experience in ABA since 2010, challenges the notion that behavior analysts are naturally proficient in this area. This course delves deep into the critical difference between developing ethical practices and mere preferences in behavior analytic work. It's an eye-opening exploration into how a fear-based approach to ethics can inadvertently take root in our field. This course will provide the participant with 1.5 Ethics CEUs. Even if Business Ethics is one of the fundamental courses imparted in tertiary education curricula, how much does a student really absorbs the insights of it? Do we really act upon that? Won’t be better to integrate ethics about morality outside the business realm? We fail to look around and actually see that this generation doesn't know how to build healthy relationships. We put a full-stop with “I don't owe anyone anything," but we do owe people something. - You owe an apology to those you've offended. - You owe gratitude to those who have supported you. - You owe respect to those you've disrespected. Accountability is a personal act of integrity and moral principles. We will continue to live in a broken society until we learn to take responsibilities for our actions that negatively impact others. #ethics #morality #civics #businessethics #universitycurriculum

Today our Level 3 Business students got involved in a thought provoking activity about Business Ethics. First learners had to rank Business' actions from most to least ethical. Groups then had to play Devil's Advocate, assume the role of the CEO who made an unethical decision and justify the action to the class. A variety of environmental and social issues were discussed and we all agreed - "the only way is Ethics" #NorthamptonCollege #Tutor2U #sustainability
