Dormancy has allowed me to pause, evaluate, re-envision, plan, and realize relevancy and fulfillment within the performing arts field, rather than staying "busy" on the proverbial hamster wheel in "traditional," limited career paths that flow from a scarcity mindset. #change #entrepreneurship #multihypenate #personalbrand

Growth happens in stages. And good growth includes dormancy too. I remember seeing this sign at the Pittsburgh Botanical Gardens a couple of years ago and it really struck me. I had just left my full-time job of my own volition, but without another opportunity lined up in front of me. It was something I had never imagined I would do. But I was feeling a bit like this plant, I bet. I wasn't blooming anymore. It was time to go dormant and redirect my energy towards new growth. I'm not gonna lie, there are days I've felt "dead" - in the proverbial sense. Dead to the arts management world, dead to my former colleagues, dead to my own ambition. How can we make dormancy a normal part of professional development?! #personalbrand #communication #change #leadership #fearlessinfashionandlife
