Geoscientist at Rock Flow Dynamics | Delivering the best subsurface to surface flow modeling technology
During the SPE Hydraulic Fracturing Technology Conference this week, one of our clients shared what he appreciates most about using our fracture modeling solution. Previously, he had to juggle between three separate standalone applications: a well-known geomodeling tool, a non lesser-known fracture simulator, and a dynamic simulator. The hassle of transferring data back and forth between these tools was a significant pain point, especially when tweaking fracture parameters required rerunning the entire workflow from scratch. With tNavigator, however, he can conveniently adjust all necessary parameters in a single script and rerun the entire workflow seamlessly. This streamlined approach has accelerated the process by a factor of three, saving valuable time and effort. What's even more amusing is that this feedback wasn't solicited; our client was spontaneously sharing his positive experience with others at the conference. 🤠 🤠 🤠 Let's focus on stressing the shale, not our nerves. 🌥 📈

What is Pseudo Transient Analysis in CFD? ~ Instead of directly solving for the time-dependent behavior until it reaches a steady state, the pseudo-transient approach treats the transient problem as if it were steady-state. This involves modifying the time-dependent equations to include a "pseudo-time" parameter. pseudo time-stepping also known as pseudo-transient continuation, is the technique of solving the steady-state solution of time-evolving partial differential equations by setting an initial guess(t') and using a time-stepper to evolve the solution forward. using this t' we get a new value and then setting it as an initial value we do the same calculation.
