We are not even scratching the surface of the looming catastrophe of mental health crisis amongst the veterans of war, ex combatants and their families and communities that will have to embrace their rehabilitation and reintegration. Least to note how timely it is to talk about the critical steps INGOs and the government should be urgently discussing enforcing prevention, treatment and referral pathways related to these issues. Proud of having Zaza Tsereteli championing our strategic thinking in these critical conversations referenced above in Ukraine as well as globally in addition to now being on the board of HIV/AIDS International Council of Aids Service Organizations (#ICASO) pursuing no less important focus of combatting HIV, including in Ukraine. 🌍 Strengthening Global Ties: ACCOSCA Meets IRU and DGRV in Bonn We were delighted to welcome George. Y. Ombado (AADE, I-CUDE, HSC) from the African Confederation of Cooperative Savings & Credit Associations (ACCOSCA) and Gabriele Freifrau v. dem Bussche to Bonn for a productive meeting with IRU and DGRV. Our discussions highlighted the shared cooperative values that unite our organizations and reaffirmed the importance of collaboration across borders. As part of IRU's global network, establishing contacts with ACCOSCA is a significant step in exchanging insights and experiences—key to driving progress for cooperatives worldwide. 🌍📍 Engaging with the Netherlands: Advancing Fire Safety Standards This week, our Secretary General, Michael H., together with Sander Kroon, Director of Advocacy Europe from ICL Industrial Products, visited The Hague to meet with newly elected members of the Eerste Kamer, the Senate of the Netherlands. During these discussions, we highlighted the unique value proposition of Brominated Flame Retardants (BFRs) and their critical role in enhancing fire safety across various sectors. BFRs are essential in protecting lives and property, ensuring more escape time for people to get safe and for firefighters to intervene.  Our conversations with the Dutch Parliament members underscored the importance of continued collaboration to ensure that fire safety standards are science-based and effective in reducing fire hazards. We believe that through these efforts, we can contribute to a safer and more secure environment in the Netherlands and beyond.
