Calling for Abstracts for the 8th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research! We are happy to announce that ACCESS Health International is co-organising the virtual pre-conference event for the 8th Global Symposium on Health Systems Research to be organised on the 30th and 31st of January, 2024. We are extending our Call for Abstracts for the same. The Health Systems Global holds the biennial Global Symposium for Health System Research which provides a venue for evidence dissemination, capacity building, and global and regional networking. The theme for HSR2024 is “Building Just and Sustainable Health Systems: Centering People and Protecting the Planet.” In advance of this key event, we as part of the South East Asia regional network are organizing a virtual pre-conference to support prospective participants who are keen on submitting abstracts for HSR2024. Selected participants from the Southeast Asia region will have an opportunity to showcase their work to a larger audience and receive insightful feedback that can contribute to the further development of their abstract and presentation for the main conference. The Essential Tremor Conference "How can technological innovation empower patients' lives?" took place this week in the European Parliament, hosted by MEPs Radka Maxová (S&D, Czech Republic) and Alex Agius Saliba (S&D, Malta).  The summit aimed to shed light on the importance of giving #EssentialTremor the attention it deserves by delving into patient experiences and the detrimental effects on their quality of life. Exploring avenues for achieving this awareness, the summit advocated for a holistic approach to address the unique challenges essential tremor poses at the EU policy level. Frédéric Destrebecq, the Executive Director of EBC, was part of the panel discussion and highlighted what strategies can be employed to advocate for a holistic approach at the EU policy level. Additionally, during the event, EBC signed a Joint Declaration. This declaration marks a significant step forward in collective efforts to prioritize Essential Tremor on the European agenda within the framework of the European Health Union for the upcoming mandate. 🔎 https://lnkd.in/dbrRnYwV

There is no health without #OneHealth Proud and honoured to contribute to the Tecnical Advisory Group (TAG) for One Health organized by #WhoEurope. The TAG just closed its 3rd meeting today (20 September), starting on Monday 18 September. Frindly, lively and truly #interdisciplinary atmosphere, lively and engaging debate and constructive comments and (ehy not?) also criticisms. Our objectives in these three days: Provide updates on the most recent developments on One Health-relevant issues, such as #antimicrobialresistance, #Biodiversity and #EnvironmentHealth Review the draft of the #Operational #Framework for One Health in the WHO #European Region and draft a consultation plan with identification of key #stakeholders Strategic objectives that the TAG is helping to achive: presenting the Operational Framework for adoption by Member States at the 74th session of the WHO Regional Committee for Europe. Definition of objectives, participants and expected outcomes of the High-level Meeting on One Health in the WHO European Region, which will take place in 2024. https://lnkd.in/d5NSsAn4

Digital Health Data on a Global Level I'm honored to have been part of the 'Catalyst Dialogue' facilitated by the Global Health Hub Germany on global digital healthcare data frameworks. Thank you very much to Alexandrine Pirlot de Corbion, Christoph Benn, and Dr. Baaba da-Costa Vroom for the enriching discussions and collaboration.
