We are thrilled to share our experience from today's panel discussion on supplier diversity, hosted in downtown Calgary by the Supplier Diversity Alliance of Canada (SDAC) 🌈🤝. Diversity in suppliers isn't just a checkbox; it's about creating an inclusive, supportive ecosystem that benefits everyone involved. Here's how Precipice has benefited from becoming a diverse supplier: 🌟 Access to safer, more supportive work environments through partnerships with corporations associated with Canada's 2SLGBTQI+ Chamber of Commerce (CGLCC), championing the 2SLGBTQAI+ community. 🌟 Feeling less alone in the entrepreneurial journey, thanks to a supportive and inclusive community, even if support comes from afar - there are resources and mentor opportunities galore! 🌟 Opportunities to meet and partner with other diverse suppliers, expanding our network and impact. Supplier diversity is more than a policy; it's a pathway to innovation, inclusivity, and creativity. Let's advocate for more inclusive business practices! #SupplierDiversity #InclusionMatters #BusinessForAll 🚀#differencemakesusstronger #leadershipdevelopment #leaders #traininganddevelopment

I'm looking forward to seeing many of you at NAFSA this week. It has been a remarkable start to the year in Intl Ed, with conflicting forces creating turbulence in key source and destination markets. For instance: - The total number of international students looking for post-secondary education abroad is expected to reach 8 million by 2030 (up from 2 million in 2020) - Structural under-funding of post-secondary education by governments in key destinations means that many institutions are more dependent than ever before on international students (according to a recent PWC report, up to 80% of UK providers could fall into deficit if there is a gradual or sudden drop in international students) - Key destinations including Australia, Canada and the UK, have all enacted policy changes to prevent or dissuade international students from choosing to study in their country, and threaten to do more (all trying to reduce immigration statistics as elections loom) So students want to study abroad, universities need them, but (some) governments don't want them. International post-secondary study was worth $262 billion globally in 2023 (that is more than Semiconductors or Iron Ore). There is also the unquantifiable soft-power value (e.g. over 50% of world leaders studied in the US or UK). Not to mention the global benefit of more people having access to high-quality education. This is an immensely valuable sector, and yet is treated like an unwelcome visitor. Is there any other export treated this way? It feels like arms dealers are more welcome than educators at the moment. We have much to discuss in New Orleans.
Meet ICEF at the NAFSA Annual Conference, May 28-31, in New Orleans. Come and say hello at booth #1619 and see how we can support your international recruitment strategy. #ICEF #NAFSA #InternationalEducation #StudyAbroad Martijn van de Veen Ian Cann Markus Badde Anthony Lee (FCIM) Nick Golding Craig Riggs Brittany Goodman Vanessa Goulding Nick Stevenson Ross Holmes Stacey Crosskill
