The holy grail of new technology launch & new market development. Clinical, Economic & Workflow Value Propositions. Insightful and informative post from Mike Moore
Partner @ The Mullings Group, Board Member, "24 in '24 Top Voices in Med Tech (MD+DI)", Host of The Bleeding Edge of Digital Health Podcast
Clinical Value Proposition. Economic Value Proposition. Workflow Value Proposition. These are the three things I usually consider when assessing new technologies that are working towards market approval, and eventual adoption in the market. Usually you need at least two of the three. With just one, you are fighting a massive uphill battle. If you have all three, you may have something special. This appears to be the case with Acorai's hand held device for measuring intra-cardiac pressures for inpatient Heart Failure patients. The current standard of care is to perform a right heart catheterization, with ultrasound. But this is not something that can realistically be done routinely to monitor changes in the patients condition. Filip Peters and his team have developed a unique handheld device to accomplish this. Their clever form factor was designed to fit in the Physician's lab coat pocket, thereby simplifying workflow as they move from patient to patient in the hospital. And given the heavy Medicare/Medicaid payer mix of HF patients, there is great incentive to deliver excellent care, while also discharging the patient as quickly as possible, without risking readmission. Episode 39 of The Bleeding Edge of Digital Health Podcast, where I was joined by Filip Peters is up for viewing on all the major podcast directories, as well as our YouTube page. In this episode we discussed the origin story of the company, size of the HF market, use case they are solving for, and much more. #heartfailure #HF #medicaldevice #medicaldevices #digitalhealth #cardiac

On this World Patient Safety Day 2024, the World Health Organization emphasises the importance of accurate and timely diagnosis as a key driver for improving patient health and safety. 👉 Diagnostics serve as a navigation system for the care team to provide patients with the right care at the right time. 👉 The diagnostic process consists of several steps, each requiring great care and precision. 👉 Medical technology is a crucial aid for the care team throughout the entire cycle, including in-vitro diagnostic tests, medical imaging, and more. 👉 Making the right diagnosis is a team effort—among healthcare providers, between the healthcare team and the patient, and also between healthcare providers, policymakers, and industry to ensure timely access to valuable diagnostic tools. We’d like to take this opportunity to once again highlight this interview with Julie HOTTON on in-vitro diagnostics (IVDs). As Head of Clinical Biology at Europa Ziekenhuizen, she clearly describes both the value and complexity of IVDs for patients, healthcare providers, and society. You can read the interview on our website: - In French: https://lnkd.in/euFFzKTi - In Dutch: https://lnkd.in/eX66Usj4 💪 Let’s continue investing in diagnostics as an invaluable lever for patient safety and quality healthcare. #medtechmatters #qualityofcare #patientsafety #WorldPatientSafetyDay #diagnostics
