Use the ‘X-Y-Z Formula’ “Accomplished X, as measured by Y, by doing Z” As an individual or agency, use this formula when talking about a new product, service or feature. It will help show the value your skills and expertise have brought. e.g. company revenue increased thanks to a 15% positive shift in average donations received after selecting the most effective design layout after A-B testing.

We recently tweaked a new donor acquisition campaign for a client. Just a simple straight-to-donate funnel. The campaign was acquiring new donors at about $30 per new gift. So we made a few small changes at the front end of the funnel. → we slightly changed the copy of the ads → we tested new pictures and creative We did not: → change the audience/targeting → change the offer → change the donation landing page And the funnel went from acquiring a new donor at $30, to acquiring a new donor at $13. That's lowering the cost of acquisition by nearly 60% simply by changing 1) words 2) pictures Changing words and pictures is free. All it takes is some time, and some curiosity. And most of all, having a posture of listening to what donors are telling us through their actions.

Friends and colleagues, The Miami-Dade Urban Debate League is preparing to host the annual Summer Debate Institute from July 30-August 1, 2024 at the University of Miami’s School of Communication, and we ask you to consider lending your support. The Summer Debate Institute is perhaps the most important event of the League’s season, as it will prepare our student debaters to become well-versed in the art of policy debate, become acquainted with the topic to be debated throughout the season, and otherwise sharpen their debate skills. For many of our students, this will be the first time that they are exposed to policy debate, making this foundational training truly critical. We cannot, however, do this without your support. Hosting the Summer Debate Institute over three days requires resources, including those needed to provide meals to our students and coaches and to be able to hire skilled instructors to teach our students. This year, we are expecting a significant increase in the amount of participating students due to new schools joining the League circuit. We have set a fundraising goal of $1,000 for this initiative, and all contributions will go towards covering the cost of meals and instructors. As a reminder, MDUDL is the only nonprofit organization offering policy debate to Title I schools in Miami-Dade County; the success of the Summer Debate Institute is vital in our work to continue providing this programming. ➡ As the calendar year came to an end, University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) goals were simple: secure as many gifts as possible and surpass the previous year’s numbers. To do this, they used Pledgemine by EverTrue to differentiate this appeal from previous mailings by enhancing visual appeal for a fresh new look—all while maintaining budgetary constraints. The result? Almost twice the number of gifts and more than double the amount of money raised.
