The best thing about my job is that I enjoy working with the great people around me. I enjoy going to car shows, writing speeches and I used to do stand up comedy. If I could live anywhere in the world, it would be Hawaii; it’s beautiful. A secret skill I have that others don’t know about is that I like to rap sometimes. If life came to a point where I could only eat one food for the rest of my days, it would be pizza. If I had to describe myself in 3 words, I’d say I’m outgoing, encouraging, and thoughtful. One thing in life that makes me feel strong is when I’ve help someone in need. The funniest joke I know by heart is the Zoo joke. The most important thing on my bucket list is to be the best person I can be.”

*** Meet CHARLIE, a new teddy bear *** He is a gift to myself! So cute! It's been quite a ride so far in #2024 ! When my check came for work done on an Al Pacino film, it was time to #celebrate So I headed over to the Black Bear Diner for a delicious dinner -- and I saw this cute little bear! I thought he was a Park Ranger, apparently he is a "fisherman". So now he is a Park Ranger which also goes fishing LOL The purple pen is there to help give an idea of his size. Hey life can be difficult at times! When good things happen it's important to celebrate them! Little bear Charlie is a reminder of all my hard work -- getting on stage and doing stand-up. Submitting my script and getting feedback on it ("formatting needs work" was one comment). Showing up on time every time that I'm booked as talent, doing my job and doing it well! On that Pacino shoot, the 1st AD came up to me and said I did great. (Not the 2nd AD or the 2nd 2nd -- the 1st AD wow!!) Sometimes it's nice to have something tangible. "Experiences" are nice -- seeing a Vegas show or taking a trip. I just finished watching Brené Brown's 2019 Netflix special, The Call to Courage. As someone who’s shared her TED Talk recently and thoroughly enjoyed a few of her books, I knew I’d appreciate this too—and it didn’t disappoint. If you haven’t seen it yet, I highly recommend giving it a watch! During the special, she once again referenced Theodore Roosevelt’s powerful speech, "The Man in the Arena." For some reason, it resonated with me even more deeply this time. Maybe it’s because of a story my oldest daughter shared recently about an encounter with a disgruntled customer at work, or perhaps it’s the constant stream of harsh comments we often see on social media. Either way, it served as a profound reminder: when we show up, face challenges, and weather life’s blows, we’re already winning. Here’s the quote that hit home for me today: “It is not the critic who counts; not the man who points out how the strong man stumbles, or where the doer of deeds could have done them better. The credit belongs to the man who is actually in the arena, whose face is marred by dust and sweat and blood; who strives valiantly; who errs, who comes short again and again… but who does actually strive to do the deeds…who spends himself in a worthy cause… who at the best knows in the end the triumph of high achievement, and who at the worst, if he fails, at least fails while daring greatly." - Theodore Roosevelt Whether at work, in life, or anywhere in between—if you’re out there giving it your all, you’re already in the arena. DIVERSIFY YOUR KNOWLEDGE I can’t tell you how many times knowing something random about some other topic has helped me in business. Having a diversified knowledge base gives you new perspectives. It adds to your creative ability. It allows you to connect with more people because you might have that little bit of knowledge about something someone else is passionate about. Below is a picture of me doing stand up comedy here in New York. Never did I think it would benefit me beyond a fear of public speaking. Learnings from that have helped me in sales, it’s helped me structure my pitches and make what is actually a scripted response feel unique to the moment (like crowd work). It’s helped me add rapport, even Obama has a favorite comedian and we can all connect on that! Get out in life and diversify your knowledge. You never know when it might come up in the future.
