Time to make some face frames. The cabinet case construction is finished so we need to dress up the front of the cabinets with their face frames. Everything starts as rough cut lumber that's allowed to acclimate to the shop for 1-2 weeks depending on the humidity levels. An initial pass through the planer allows inspection of the grain pattern, then the blanks are cut on the bandsaw. First making sure the fence is square to the table, two adjoining surfaces of each piece of stock are flattened and squared up on the jointer, then run through the planer for final dimensioning. Precise end cuts are critical for good frame joints, so the miter saw is checked for square both vertically and horizontally. Pocket hole screws make for quick assembly and the Kreg Pro 720 system really speeds the process up. And in one night, we've got three face frames finished and ready for attachment to the cabinets. #Jettools #Kregtools #Woodpecker #Dewalt #Makita
