Boehler is living a delusion. United States has lost its geopolitical status to be able to impose costs on any country in the world to induce behavioral change other than itself nor will the world trust American incentives. America must first build stature to restore its status by changing its own behavior, with no insight yet in Washington that it should, producing erroneous bi-partisan political decision making other than #bidenomics. The country has just now begun going through the five stages of grief of loss of global power – denial, anger, bargaining, depression, and acceptance. Washington is currently in denial. When it enters the anger phase there could be a wider war. To end that war, we will enter a bargaining phase. After geopolitical compromise over the inevitable loss of unipolar, hyperpower, the country will go into a national mood of depression, with the people humbled if not humiliated, similar to China in the 15th century before the rise of Europe and Russia after the end of the Cold War which gave rise to Xi Jinping and Vladimir Putin. Finally acceptance will come. Whether that acceptance will take the form of a better country and society or de jure fascism abrogating the constitution and the republic as Donald Trump wants, for whom Boehler worked, akin to Russia and China is yet to be seen, and a choice American people still have. We do not need more financial capitalism. As Ronald Reagan said, we need more democracy not less as an antidote to fascism by the government and, to this I will add, money where Reagan went wrong, advised by the Mont Pelerin Society (MPS, https://lnkd.in/eJvWqeCx) founded after World War II, believing erroneously that more financial capitalism favoring the wealthy can lead to more democracy. More financial capitalism has been the road to serfdom for the multitude. United States must learn the old fashioned virtue of doing more real capitalism of replacing man with machine in the age of Artificial Intelligence (AI) for the benefit of all with less financial capitalism to ultimately end the drudgery of work to make a living by enslaving the machine to the interests of man to end serfdom rather than enslaving man to the interests of fellow man who owns the machine. Inflation always produces fascism. $1 needs to go far both in wages of the wealthy and overall prices. United States of America needs ‘controlled and calibrated deflation.’
