Mondays are tough. LinkedIn pretends Mondays are the best, but let's be real—they're not our favorite. To make Mondays a bit more bearable, I'm sharing some killer content. Here's what we can learn from Jean-Michel Basquiat's work ethic: 📚 1. 𝗦𝗼𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗲 𝗠𝗮𝘁𝗲𝗿𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗮𝗴𝗶𝗰: Find your creative bibles. Basquiat used "Symbol Sourcebook" and "Flash of the Spirit" to fuel his art. Seek out books, images, or music that ignite your imagination and keep them close. 👨🎨 2. 𝗦𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗮𝗻 𝗔𝗿𝘁𝗶𝘀𝘁: Don’t just copy—steal with style. Basquiat embraced Picasso’s idea that "great artists steal". Collect the best ideas and make them your own. Remix and reimagine without judgment. ✊ 3. 𝗠𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗮𝗴𝗲-𝗗𝗿𝗶𝘃𝗲𝗻 𝗠𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘆: Have a clear purpose. Basquiat’s art tackled the underrepresentation of black artists. Define what you want to say with your work; a strong message will guide you through creative blocks. ⚡ 4. 𝗦𝗽𝗲𝗲𝗱 𝗗𝗲𝗺𝗼𝗻: Work fast, think less. Basquiat impressed even Andy Warhol with his speed. When you create quickly, you bypass overthinking and tap into raw creativity. Set a timer and create without hesitation. 🥋 5. 𝗖𝗼𝗻𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝘁 𝗟𝗲𝗮𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴: Be a lifelong learner. Basquiat constantly absorbed new information from books, museums, and life experiences. Feed your mind with diverse influences to keep your inspiration flowing. #basquiat #strategy #work

"How's that working for you?" Something I ask myself that when something isn't working and I need to check myself before I wreck myself (yes, I just did that). 😄 Most of the time, it's a "not too well" response. Many times, we can change our circumstances by stepping into something new and inviting our partner to step in with us. 🌟Are you feeling overwhelmed by trying to fit in and figure out how to prioritize and get all the things with work and personal done? 🌟Do you want to gain time for yourself or just not have as many things to do? 🌟Is your partner willing to help and shift, but you have to lead the conversation of how to go about it? 🌟Are you ready to have a different conversation with your partner about owning things as a team vs. your partner helping you own everything? Many of us channel our inner Luisa from Encanto 💪, holding up the world for our loved ones. But this constant juggling isn't sustainable for many couples. Fathers want to be more engaged. Mothers want to be more present. How do we do that if it feels lopsided and unfair to one or both parties? And, how can you achieve what you both want? I know how daunting it can be to initiate or organize and schedule that conversation about rebalancing life's responsibilities. I've been there. It wasn't easy, but it was necessary. And you deserve to have this conversation in a gentle and empowering way. 📅 Join my 4-week class starting JUNE 3, designed to help you invite your partner to a different kind of conversation. ✨One that is psychologically safe, has both you and your partner in mind and is about owning instead of helping.
