Today marks the 40th year of a special tradition at Chardam Gear – the passing out of Thanksgiving turkeys. Here at Chardam our employees are our greatest asset, and we are thankful for them every day. 40 years ago, Michael Brzoska Sr., handed out the first Thanksgiving turkey at Chardam and this tradition has been carried on by his son Mike Brzoska Jr. and daughter, Kay Becker. This year they watched with pride as each Chardam employee received a turkey for their Thanksgiving dinner from members of the 3rd and 4th generation of Chardam family, Buddy Becker and Matty Chambo. Happy Thanksgiving to all!

Amateur Runner | Podcast Addict | Talks about streamlining content pipeline to solve business problems
As professionals, we often get caught up in pursuing our career goals, but let's not forget the importance of human connection and expressing gratitude. Thanksgiving offers a unique opportunity to pause, reflect on the year's blessings, and show appreciation for the people and experiences that have shaped our lives. Thanksgiving's values of gratitude and community resonate across cultures worldwide. Pongal & Lohri in India, Erntedankfest in Germany & Austria and Fête des Vendanges in France embody the same spirit for bountiful crops and harmonious coexistence. These festivals remind us that prosperity is not only a result of our individual efforts but also of the collective blessings bestowed upon us. Incorporating the spirit of Thanksgiving into our daily interactions can significantly improve our professional relationships. By expressing genuine appreciation for others' efforts, acknowledging their challenges, and celebrating their successes, we can foster deeper connections and build stronger partnerships.

🌾 The Origins of Thanksgiving Thanksgiving dates back to 1621 when Plymouth colonists and Native Wampanoag people shared a harvest feast. Though colonies and states observed days of thanksgiving for over two centuries, it became a national holiday in 1863, declared by President Lincoln amidst the Civil War. However, Thanksgiving is not without controversy, with some, including Native Americans, highlighting its potential to overshadow a history marked by oppression and conflict between European settlers and Native communities. While the historical roots are in the 17th century, modern Thanksgiving celebrations involve a mix of traditions, including family gatherings, feasts, parades, and expressions of gratitude. The Thanksgiving holiday has absorbed diverse cultural influences over the centuries, making it a celebration that reflects the multicultural tapestry of the United States. Understanding these historical facts provides context for the evolution of Thanksgiving into today's widely celebrated holiday. What is the importance of Thanksgiving for you?
