“Range anxiety” is often cited as one of the biggest challenges to electric vehicle (EV) adoption. Because EVs can travel only a limited distance on a charge, having charging stations nearby is non-negotiable. Unless you live in the middle of absolute nowhere, you probably don’t have to worry about finding a gas station nearby, but the same isn’t true of EV charging stations. It’s no surprise that the European EV charging market is expected to grow to $7.8 billion by 2028. As more electric vehicles arrive on the world’s roadways, so does the need for a secure charging infrastructure that can keep up with the demand. https://lnkd.in/eVSarbHK

Securing the Foundations: Zero-Knowledge Networking for Uncompromised Digital Safety for Legacy, current & Future Digital Assets.
Drive by Digital Mugging: Once connected to an insecure charging station a threat actor could not only monitor your vehicle's data, but also potentially control the flow of electricity, potentially overcharging your battery or even causing a dangerous power surge? This type of attack could not only compromise your personal information and vehicle data, but also put your safety at risk. Then consider the next level to infiltrate a vehicle at point of charge then implicitly spread via V2X communications which are susceptible to eavesdropping, spoofing, man-in-the-middle, and sybil attacks. The reality is that many EV charging systems and vehicles have yet-to-be-discovered vulnerabilities likely already deployed, that could be exploited by malicious actors, making the security of this critical infrastructure a growing concern for all EV drivers. Addressing these vulnerabilities through advanced security measures, like zero-knowledge proof, is essential to ensuring the safety and reliability of the evolving electric vehicle ecosystem. Tom and his team are developing ways to address this and other issues within this industry. Lets look at ways to improve this landscape as understanding the hierarchy of code is essential to making the gaps and each tier properly secure. #EcoSecWorks #BlueNebula #Xiid #ZeroKnowledge #EVSEC
EV Charging infrastructure is a high growth industry that requires tailored tools and technology to secure. Protecting an EV Charger ecosystem also means you are securing the EV vehicle, the grid, and potentially the home/building network. EcoSec Works
