The CAF #WorldGivingIndex 2023 paints a mixed picture of the UK's generosity. We can take pride in our position as the 3rd most generous country for donating money, but overall the UK has slipped down the Index over the last decade. The UK’s ranks 58th in the world for volunteering and 112th for helping strangers, highlighting the need to build a more holistic culture of giving. Governments, funders, and civil society organisations all have unique roles to play. We can take inspiration from other countries, and we are calling on the Government to take a lead by introducing a national strategy for philanthropy and charitable giving.
