Introducing a New Benefit for employees: Charity Days! 🌟 We’re excited to share a new initiative that reflects our commitment to supporting the causes that matter to our team and our community. From now on, all employees will have the opportunity to take an additional day of paid leave each year to participate in a charitable activity of their choice. Whether it’s volunteering at a shelter, joining a fundraising event, helping with a community cleanup, or supporting any cause that’s close to their heart, this day is about giving back in a way that feels meaningful to them. We hope this small step will make it easier for our team to engage with and support the communities around us while strengthening the values we stand for as an organisation. Thanks to Chase Marable, MBA, PWCA and Tabatha Morrow for the invitation to this quarter's Volunteer Leaders of the Ozarks meeting! Volunteer managers, development professionals, and nonprofit organizations as a whole are facing new challenges as they look to connect with younger audiences. This group of leaders took time to review Habitat Communication & Culture's "Shaping Tomorrow" report, commissioned by Community Foundation of the Ozarks. The study considered important questions like: ❔ Do younger residents define charitable giving differently than their parents? ❔ What unique motivations and preferences drive those under 40 to engage in charitable giving or volunteerism? ❔ How can nonprofit agencies build and maintain trust with younger audiences?

As we reflect on the season of gratitude, it's important to remember that giving thanks goes beyond words—it's about actions that make a real difference. One of the most profound ways we can express our gratitude is through philanthropy. Whether it’s donating time, resources, or skills, the act of giving not only helps others, but it enriches our own lives as well. Philanthropy has the power to transform communities, uplift individuals, and create lasting change. It’s a way to share our blessings with those in need, to create opportunities where they might not exist, and to build a more compassionate world. Every contribution, no matter how big or small, has the potential to spark a ripple effect of kindness and generosity. This season, let’s take a moment to consider how we can give back. "No one has ever become poor by giving" - Anne Frank At PIMCon I heard many talk about how the relationship between a business and the community is symbiotic. Truly they play a MAJOR role in the success and well-being of each other. Not only if it done correctly will it drive economic growth, but it can also enhance the quality of life for everyone involved. For example: Mike Morse - 🎒 Mike realized there was an overwhelming need for backpacks and supplies for the Detroit Public School students. He took on that mission and as of last year over 300,000 backpacks were donated to Michigan students. 🐶😻 Mike hosts Meet Your Best Friend event, where not only does he host the event two times a year and donates to the Michigan Humane, but he also pays for pets to be shown on local TV and will pay for those featured pets adoption fees! 👨⚖️ Mike has also stepped out of his comfort zone (Personal Injury) into criminal defense to help free Michael Anthony Griffin, a man who had spent over 13 years in prison for a crime he did not commit. David L. Thomas, MBA - 🏍 David and his team believe in boots on the ground with big and small events for their communities. They get in front of their audience with these events, and pull their members into building the community around these charities need/want. When businesses invest in their communities they improve the environment they operate in. In turn, these improvements lead to a better quality of life for their residents. It is about understanding the community's need, supporting the local causes, and contributing to a shared vision. This builds trust, loyalty, and long term relationships.
