It's #SmallCharityWeek – and we know what it is to be a small team with big purpose. Like ducks, we may look calm on the surface, but below water we are paddling at full speed! Which leads to some pretty incredible results... In the past year we have trebled the reach of our Trustee Learning Programme 🤯 Since May 2023, the programme has had a total of 15,553 bookings and YouTube views! Respondent satisfaction is overwhelmingly positive, too. Check these stats: 98% said they felt the session they attended would help them be a more effective trustee 98% were either satisfied or very satisfied with the session 97% would recommend the session to someone else So what can you do to support #SmallCharities this week? To mark the start of #CharityFraudAwarenessWeek, BDO have shared a snapshot of the results of their 2024 Charity Fraud Survey in partnership with the Fraud Advisory Panel. With nearly half (42%) of charities reporting fraud or attempted fraud in the last twelve months despite improvements in fraud awareness it is a helpful reminder that simply adopting a policy is not a solution. Appropriate and sufficient training, robust procedures and internal controls and fostering a culture of transparency are essential to preventing fraud.
