In paying homage to Women's History Month, we share a link to our recent story about the frustrating history and current status of the Equal Rights Amendment (ERA) and the troubled history to make it the 28th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution. Also included is a link to our film about the Women's Suffrage Movement that culminated in finally giving women the right to vote in 1920. We are working on a new film about the horrific legacy of American slavery— an aspect of history that has been largely whitewashed in school curriculums. As reference, check out the new film by Raoul Peck on this subject reviewed last week in the New Yorker and now on HBO Max. The title of his film is Exterminate All the Brutes, a line taken from Joseph Conrad's Heart of Darkness. Of course, the legacy of slavery continues to haunt the U.S. to this day. Just witness the George Floyd trauma and ongoing police violence. #history #slavery #film #movies #education
