Why did you become a social worker? #SWMonth2024 #EmpoweringSocialWorkers #SocialWorkMonth #NASW #AAA3Cares Why you became a social worker—I became a social worker because I wanted to be able to help and advocate for others who were not able to speak for themselves or their requests were not heard. I became a Social Worker because I love helping people! It gives me so much joy and happiness in my life when I know that I am making an impact and helping others. What I love about being a Social Worker is that I can help others in so many different ways, like providing resources, emotional support, train new hires, etc. all while being a social worker at heart. What it means to be a social worker is knowing that I making an impact or impression on others, in hopes they remember me or what was said/done have helped them in some way. Knowing that I am helping others, means so much to me as a social worker and hoping to make a positive impact on their life. ~ Erika Knerr, SWA - Staff Development Lead
