With Care Workers coming under attack during the recent unrest across the UK, the Care Quality Commission stated it was “completely unacceptable” that care workers are being targeted for their race or religion, or being prevented from delivering care due to racist attacks and violent disorder. The Care Worker's Union said that employers and management “must urgently reinforce safety protocols, ensuring that care workers can perform their critical roles without fear”. Let’s stand together against racism and abuse in our healthcare system. #NHS #EndRacism #HealthcareHeroes #ZeroTolerance

🤕 😭 Imagine having a physical and/or psychological disability and injury that happened at work that you have been diagnosed with by your treating physician AND a duly qualified specialist who both assess you and recommend a treatment plan for your specific disability. 🙈 🙉 Then, imagine you have someone who has no medical background, limited training and no professional designation deciding that you are not disabled, not injured, and they just erase your lived experience of coping with your disabilities every single day. These are the front-line decision-makers who cut disabled people off benefits from Workers Compensation Boards. They will most likely use a 'paper' doctor ("Medical Advisor) or "Psychology Advisor" who are the lowest, most unethical rung of their profession. Welcome to the pathological 🌍 of #Canada's #WorkersCompensationBoards where systematic and institutional #discrimination, #disabilityerasure, #psychologicalabuse and victimization are baked in 🍪 🍰 You could have 50 reports from credible health care professionals and the WCB #Fraud and False pretences will still be 'validated' by HC professionals who have discredited their professions over and over again. Workers Comp Boards have systematized and embedded s. 361 False pretence into their operations when it comes to adjudication of #workplaceinjuries and #disabilities. When they deny claims, after employers have been paying into the system, they off-load care (if it can be received) and income (such as CPP-Disability or PWD) onto other provincial and federal programs and health care systems. Its basically #organizedcrime writ large as the funds disappear into 'investment' corporations. All levels of government have been ignoring this for decades. How many of the people who become addicted to opioids and then die of OD's/drug poisoning were started in their addictions because of workplace injuries? It's long past due for an inquiry into #WorkersComp systems in #Canada. Regulatory health Colleges also play a MAJOR role in covering up and allowing their own WCB registrants to destroy the credibility of their professions. They often create 'special' categories for them so their ilk can keep their grifts and cons going. #corruption #WCBcorruption #torture #UNCAT

💔 NHS Lothian Time to Stand Up for Your Staff 💔 Since 2020, I’ve faced a series of challenges that no dedicated employee should endure. Due to a hate crime that was brushed under the carpet, I’ve been restricted from booking shifts, forcing me to seek alternative employment. This situation has been exacerbated by my disabilities, and the response from NHS Lothian has been nothing short of dismissive. When I pursued a claim for workplace injury, the offer I received was an insult. It barely covers the income I’ve lost and doesn’t account for the long-term damages still being assessed. NHS Lothian even suggested I couldn’t take legal action. Well, I’m here to say I will not be bullied into silence. This is not just about me—it’s about every staff member who gives their all, only to be let down by an employer who fails to protect and support them. Life is challenging, and we’re all in this together. It’s high time the workforce received the respect and care we deserve from those we dedicate our time and efforts to. Let’s stand together against ill-treatment and demand a better, fairer workplace for all. #NHSLothian #WorkplaceJustice #SupportStaff #StandTogether #Equality #Inclusion #DisabilityRights

Another Regulator deemed unfit for purpose. The report found the watchdog was unable to effectively judge the quality of health and care services, including those in need of urgent improvement. Little wonder there are so many avoidable incidents of people coming to serious harm in health and social care settings. This happens in plain sight, you can only flinch at what is happening to individuals with a learning disability and autism locked away in secure settings. The neglect of regulation only amplifies the neglect and abuse of the individual #LearningDisability #LearningDisabilities #SocialCare #HealthandSocialCare

Can we talk about the lack of healthcare equality for minority communities? CareSource continues to deny authorization to individuals in need of medical and mental health services. What will it take for these individuals to receive the care they need? It's disheartening that people may need to resort to harming themselves for the lack of access to healthcare to be taken seriously. We need to come together as a society to advocate for equal access to healthcare for all patients. #healthcareequality #mentalhealthawareness

Vulnerable people face being denied basic preventive social care at home due to a wave of rapid discharges from hospitals that are sucking up resources, council bosses have warned. “This cannot continue,” says Helen Wildbore, the director of Care Rights UK. “There are many urgent priorities for the new government but ensuring dignity and respect for older and disabled people in the most vulnerable of situations must top the list.” We dive deeper into exploring hospital discharge pathways and the solutions in our report, on “Discharge to Assess,” revealing how digital solutions support patients to recover safely at home and ease pressure on #health and #socialcare staff. Muslim health workers have become the focus of a surge in racist abuse since far-right inspired riots erupted earlier this month, according to medical associations 💡 Dr Salman Waqar, president of the British Islamic Medical Association (BIMA), representing around 7,000 medics, described an unprecedented climate of fear among healthcare professionals. He revealed that staff had been subjected to harrowing personal attacks, including racial slurs and death threats 👎🏽 GPs in cities such as Manchester and Belfast have been forced to alter their working practices due to safety concerns, with early closures and avoidance of home visits becoming commonplace 🏠 The British Egyptian Medical Association (BEMA) echoed BIMA's findings, reporting increased absenteeism and plummeting morale among its 11,000 members 📉 NHS England chief executive Amanda Pritchard acknowledged the detrimental impact of the unrest on staff wellbeing, while Health Secretary Wes Streeting vowed to take a tough stance against racism directed at healthcare workers 🗣️ As the violence continues, health leaders are urging employers to provide urgent support for migrant and ethnic minority staff. A particularly shocking incident involving Filipino nurses attacked while on duty in Sunderland has underscored the severity of the situation ⚠️ BIMA and the NHS Muslim Women’s Network have called for specific recognition of Islamophobic abuse within NHS institutions ☪️ Supportis are experts in #HumanResources, #EmploymentLaw and #HealthAndSafety for businesses just like yours, posting #HRNews for employers every weekday 📰 Book a fast, free, no-obligation chat with our friendly team today 🙋♀️ 📱 0161 603 2156 💻 supportis.com 💌 hello@supportis.com 💬 DM us #StockportBusiness #ManchesterBusiness #UKBusiness #NorthWestBusiness #UKSmallBusiness #LondonBusiness #HR #HumanResources #UKHealthAndSafety #EmploymentLawUK #EmployeeWellbeing #EmploymentTribunal #UKEmploymentTribunal #EmploymentLawNews #HumanResourcesNews #UKHumanResources #HealthandSafetyNews #HRProfessional #HRManager #Manchester #UKRiots
