What blew my mind this week (non-IT related): We're already creating human tissue in "factories" and implanting them in people. Specifically, blood vessels. 🩸 Medicine doesn't look to go fast, but they don't do a good job marketing at what they *do* do fast. 🚀 Humancyte is producing actual blood vessels and helping 🇺🇦's wounded. Instead of grafting/harvesting vessels from another body part, they get a new one. New thing I learned: vessels don't need cells in them, and by washing those out, you avoid transplant rejections. Insane. The episode on this on the What's Your Problem podcast with @jacobgoldstein is definitely worth a listen: https://lnkd.in/e-2t3NPV

In last week’s episode of #RadioAdvisory, Chloe Bakst shares a story about two health system leaders: one is contemplating shutting down their bariatric surgery business because GLP-1s are cannibalizing volumes. The other is hiring another bariatric surgeon because GLP-1s are helping drive new volumes. I don’t know about you, but hearing that story, my antenna went up. There is so much opportunity to better understand how GLP-1s can and should fit into a more comprehensive approach to treating obesity. And especially as we look at projections that tell us that 58% of adults in the US will have obesity by 2025, we’re on the clock to figure it out! I sat down with Chloe, Payton Grimes and Atticus Raasch to learn more about what this should look like. Listen here (or wherever you listen to podcasts): https://lnkd.in/gJpcbmHd
