Helping ambitious oil and gas leaders to secure life-changing international jobs | Upgrade your job search assets and skills | Improve your interview performance | Job Offer Accelerator Programme | Get hired faster
Hi oil and gas friends! In a job interview, what are hiring managers looking for when they ask you, "What is your greatest strength?" When hiring managers ask this question, they are typically seeking four key insights: 1. Relevance to the Role: They want to understand how your strengths align with the requirements of the position. For a Senior Drilling Engineer, for example, they're looking for technical proficiency and relevant skills in drilling operations. 2. Self-awareness: They want to gauge your ability to assess your own strengths accurately. Candidates who can articulate their strengths with clarity and confidence demonstrate self-awareness. 3. Fit with the Team and Company Culture: Hiring managers are interested in whether your strengths align with the team dynamics and the company's values. Highlighting strengths related to teamwork, problem-solving, or adaptability can indicate compatibility with the company culture. 4. Value Proposition: They want to know how your strengths can contribute to the success of the team and the organization overall. Your answer should demonstrate how your strengths can be leveraged to achieve positive OUTCOMES for the company. So by asking this question, hiring managers aim to gain deeper insights into your capabilities, personality, potential fit within the organization, and the value you bring to the company. I hope that helps, Let me know your views on this in the comments. ================================ Hi there, I'm David Snow, and I help oil and gas leaders to MARKET themselves effectively to companies and land their DREAM JOBS. I am writing this post to share an interview experience of mine.Last month my CV was shortlisted by a consultant& note that my QA/QC Experience was in Roads & Infrastructure. So excited & was eagerly waiting for the client interview for the last 1 month. The day came.I was waiting for my turn, and now iam Infront of the client .All of a sudden he went through my CV and told me that I have no experience in buildings ,so you may leave now. What is this?. On the basis of which they select CV's and call people for an interview?Who is responsible for all the loss I have faced on that day.Is this kidding.I was surprised that it was a client interview. At last but least one request for all the interviewing officials, please go through the cv before you call for an interview & you have all rights to reject before the interview if our Experiance don't match yours. After calling Infront of you and without interviewing & rejecting is so painful.

When conducting a candidate interview, we look for any potential issues that could put the organization at a disadvantage if the person is hired. However, even to get the best out of coal (diamond potential of a coal mine) and heat potential of a coal), we have to get our hands dirty. Organizations that take chances on people's talents, while overlooking their shortcomings, are ultimately doing good for themselves and for the candidate. #CandidateInterview #OrganizationalRisk #TalentAssessment #Shortcomings #PersonalGrowth #ChanceTaking #EmployeeDevelopment #Benefits #SelfImprovement #OrganizationalAdvantage #HiringProcess #JobInterview #ProfessionalDevelopment #CoalAnalogy #coalminediamondpotential #coalheatpotential

Assistant Lecturer at Kyambogo University DBME |Engineer Biologic Calibration Solutions Limited | Engineer Rhizoo Engineering Company Limited.
In today's competitive job market, resumes often fall short in capturing the full essence of who we are as individuals and the potential we bring to the table. While a CV outlines our experiences and qualifications, it's the opportunity to showcase our personalities, skills, and passion in person that truly sets us apart. Recognizing that nervousness can sometimes cloud our true abilities, we believe that given the chance to express ourselves directly, we can demonstrate our potential as valuable employees who are eager to contribute and make a difference.
Dear Talent Aquisition Specialists/Recruiters give us chance sometimes our CV,& Resume can’t show how Hardworking,Passionate,Commitment,Resilience,& Outstanding we are,or how Skilled we are:- #BlastHoleDriller💥. #AnchorDriller/CasingDriller⛏️. #Mining🧨. #Construction🔩.
