🍷🎶 How Background Music Influences Wine Tasting 🎶🍷 Did you know that the music playing in the background can alter your perception of wine flavors? Research by Dr. Adrian North at Heriot Watt University—Edinburgh uncovered how different music styles can influence the taste of wine: Heavy Music: Enhances the perception of wines as more robust and intense. Subtle & Refined Tunes: Makes wines feel more delicate and sophisticated. Zingy & Refreshing Beats: Brings out a zestier and more vibrant character in wines. Mellow & Soft Sounds: Tends to make wines taste smoother and gentler. This effect is notably stronger for red wines than for whites. #WhyWine? Jason Lede, general manager at Cliff Lede Vineyards, thinks wine is a lot like music. "Just like music, you can share it, you can use it to revisit moments, you can use it to create moments... so wine truly is one of the greatest things that helps enhance that life experience." Have you shared your #whywine story yet? Learn more about The "Why Wine?" Project at napavalley.wine/why-wine!

Check out Neill's review of our two new releases below!
There’s a lot about Turntable Spirits that I find appealing. First, I like that they connect whisky and music because I’ve tried to explore this in my Ceòl agus Craic tastings with the Islay Whisky Academy. However, I also like that they champion blended whiskies – I’ve often written about the role blends can play in the ever-changing Scotch whisky market. In my opinion, there’s no better pairing than whisky and music. They both have the power to tap into our innermost emotions and trigger powerful memories. When the two are combined, they can create a moment of enjoyment that almost reaches spiritual levels. Gordon and Ally Stevenson of Turntable Spirits have a similar passion for music and indulge their interest by giving their blended whiskies music-themed names, often inspired by classic songs. Recently, I attended Turntable’s first birthday shindig in Glasgow, an event that coincided with the release of two new whiskies. The first, One Way or Another, is a grain-focused offering, whilst the second, Harder Better Faster Stronger, showcases bolder malt components. Full tasting notes, as well as my opinions on each dram, are below. https://lnkd.in/enYrb8Tn

Turning rap into...wine? 🎙 🍇 I loved this story by Francesca C. Hansen at PARIS WINE COMPANY behind Valentin Morel's Vin de France ‘Hommage à la Canaille’ label, and its random connection to French HipHop. Valentin’s tribute to the French rapper La Canaille showcases the powerful connection that can be made between music and other industries, in this case, winemaking. While winemakers would consider pervasiveness to be a negative attribute - if a pervasive pest ruins a vintage, music is pervasive - in the good way. Music has a unique ability to transcend boundaries and industries, fostering connections. Just as Valentin Morel's wine embodies the spirit of resistance and creativity inspired by La Canaille's music, we in the music business have a long way to go to embrace more cross-industry collaborations. Industries like fashion and film have long understood the value of working together to amplify their impact. For instance, collaborations between fashion designers and filmmakers often result in iconic moments that enhance both mediums, such as the partnership between GIVENCHY and Audrey Hepburn. Similarly, tech companies and automotive industries team up to innovate and create cutting-edge products, like the collaboration between Google and Tesla on autonomous driving technology. The music industry, too, must break out of its silo and seek out new partnerships. By collaborating with sectors such as technology, fashion, and even agriculture, we can create richer, more integrated experiences for audiences. Imagine the possibilities: music festivals powered by renewable energy solutions developed in partnership with tech companies, or album releases that coincide with fashion shows, creating a multi-sensory experience. Valentin Morel's homage to La Canaille is a reminder of the powerful synergy that can be achieved when we look beyond our own industry and embrace collaboration. Also - it sounds delicious. Is anyone stocking it locally?! #AusMusic #MusicIndustry #Collaboration #Innovation #WineAndMusic

Agile Leadership in Key Account Management. Extraordinary efforts for normal profits? - how to realize the profitable value exchange...
Oktoberfest The largest folk festival in the world in Munich Oktoberfest 2024 will take place over 16 days from September 21 to October 6, 2024 on Munich's Theresienwiese. Every year, beers from six Munich breweries and numerous other Bavarian specialties are served in almost 40 festival tents at the world's largest folk festival. Around 15 euros for a pint of beer or a whopping 9.50 euros for Wiesn fries - prices at Munich's Oktoberfest have once again reached record highs in 2024. Nevertheless, the 189th edition of the folk festival on the Theresienwiese still attracts the crowds. More than six million visitors are expected again this year. The Wiesn is a billion-dollar business - and in the middle of it all, the landlords and landladies dominate the spectacle. The fact that their well-optimized business is highly profitable was revealed ten years ago in a tax evasion case: one of the large tents generated a profit of around 2 million euros in 16 Oktoberfest days. Since then, costs have risen, especially for staff and security. The tents themselves also cost money: the months-long assembly, dismantling and storage of the temporary structures alone can add up to well over 2 million euros per tent. Nevertheless, the Wiesn remains good business. Prost!

Sharing a video that captures a moment that matters to me and is very very special. Recently I got the opportunity to visit the home of Patron, in Jalisco, Hacienda, Mexico. Having been to many Malts distilleries, this experience was quite different. The food , the culture, Music, the hospitality and ofcourse my favourite Patron Tequila everything was unique. There are many fun facts that I learned during my journey but I am not sure if you know - 1. Did you know that it can take upto 8 years for an Agave Plant to grow before it is plucked for making Tequila? 2. Did you know that Patron is made with 100% Weber Blue Agave? 3. Did you know that it takes 60 Hands to make a bottle of Patron? 4. Did you know that Patron uses traditional methods to make Tequila? Probably Not. If you already did then answer the question below - What's the name of the special mill that is used for making Patron and what is it made of ? Bacardi #Patron is Made by the hands and crafted with passion.

Let’s talk about barrels The barrels that are most used to store tequila and mezcal for a time are those made of white oak, both American and French. These woods are carefully selected to obtain an optimal product. White oak is a wood that provides that rich wood flavor in mezcal, and in tequila it provides sweet, smoky, fruity and even spicy flavors and aromas. For good tequila, it is the white oak barrels that give it body and character, especially the American one, and inside they rest the white, reposado, aged and extra aged tequila. There are tequila makers that take care of the temperature, the humidity of the environment, the silence to let the product rest and there are some that play soft violin and classical music. For mezcal, both are used. American and French white oak barrels, since this is how a delicious flavor is achieved in reposado, aged and extra aged mezcals. There are other variants in addition to white oak barrels, since other woods can also be used to age tequila and mezcal. We have examples of oak, acacia, cherry, pine, chestnut, guayacan wood, in short. They are not common but are used in some distilleries. There are variants in oak barrels: Aged, toasted, untoasted, and smoked. The maturation process of tequila and mezcal in barrels is a slow and gradual process. Time is the best friend of these elixirs and what gives them that special touch. 'Wise virtue of knowing'
