Really fun and interesting article in the New York Post, covering research carried out on behalf of Chime!
And the article certainly chimes with the Payment Choice Alliance!
Despite the quirky headline, the research reveals that over 50% of Americans still believe “Cash is King”; 88% don’t want cash removed as an payment option; and only 5% never carry cash.
Many of findings from this US research very much accord with those from recent UK research results from LINK Scheme Ltd and Payment Choice Alliance.
The research also reveals that all generations use cash and that younger folk carry more than the more mature - along with the fact that many are more likely to use cash in 2024 than five years ago!
New York is a wonderful town, so the song goes - and it is certainly WONDERFUL to hear from a New York newspaper that, at the age of over 2500 years, cash is the “Comeback Kid” for many Americans!
And, of course, New York is one of the many places in the United States to have put legal measures in place to stop “cashless” being imposed on the public.
Which means, for example, that you can still use cash on New York buses - putting Transport for London to shame!
The Payment Choice Alliance will be in New York this week to congratulate the Big 🍏 for, like us, being at the forefront of the “War Against Cashless”.
AND WINNING!
