As a half-Japanese/half-Irish man, I feel compelled to share why I specifically support Juneteenth. For me, it's not just about celebrating a specific day, although its inclusion in our calendar is a monumental achievement, recognizing the long struggle for freedom and equality and serving as a powerful call to action. We are reminded every day that the hard work of dismantling systemic racism is far from over and, in fact, that progress is being reversed. I feel that if I can make a difference - even to one person - then any effort I contribute is meaningful, and I encourage everyone to give what they can. Just as a single thread may be fragile, but many threads woven together create a strong fabric, our united stand against injustice can form an unbreakable bond and a foundation for lasting change. This allows me to use my voice to challenge not only racism but other forms of harassment and discrimination in our society. As allies, we must speak out against injustice in all its forms and stand in solidarity with marginalized communities. Join me in moving from reflection and quiet support to creating a louder voice for change. What can YOU do to make an impact today - and every day? Together, we can make a difference! #juneteenth #hughesviews #equity #blackhistory
