I recently connected with the lovely James Hunt from Wavin's Urban Climate Resilience team. They're on a mission to make cities more climate-resilient while reducing their environmental impact.
Wavin specializes in 'smart' rain / stormwater management solutions, working closely with urban planning decision-makers. Their unique approach involves advising during the masterplanning / strategy phase, emphasising collaboration with biodiverse habitats, social amenities, and more.
As a 'one-stop shop' partner, Wavin has delivery partners for seamless supply and installation of solutions, including rain gardens, blue-green roofs / podiums, and attenuation crates made with recycled plastics.
Did you know:
- Urban trees can help cool the air by up to 8 degrees celsius
- 30% of drinking water is lost because of leaking pipes
- 30% of non-potable water needs could come from harvested rainwater
- 50% of energy consumption comes from heating and cooling of buildings
James is on the lookout for new connections in the buildings and infrastructure industry, especially councils, asset owners, and developers. They're also keen on partnering with architects, landscape architects, and urban designers for collaborative projects.
Let's build a more resilient and sustainable future - together! 🌍💡
