If your CSCS card gained via Industry Accreditation expired on the 31st of December 2024 there is still time to transition onto a new card. Last year the Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) announced a one-year extension of funding to support the CSCS in transitioning all Industry Accreditation (IA) cardholders to recognised qualifications. Those affected by the changes to IA DO NOT need to attend college to get their new qualification. Enhanced grants are available to CITB-registered employers for specific qualifications achieved until 31 March 2026. To support construction workers’ transition from an IA card to a qualification, CITB have increased the grant for specific supervision NVQ Diplomas/SVQs to £1,250 and specific management NVQ Diplomas/SVQs to £1,500. You can read more about how to claim these grants on the CITB website - https://lnkd.in/eYQPiK4S When you are registered for an approved construction related NVQ/SVQ level 2, SVQ at SCQF level 5 or higher for you can apply for an Experienced Worker card which is valid for one year. With 9 million adults in the UK lacking basic literacy or numeracy skills, the economic impact is massive, costing around £80 billion annually! Let’s bridge this gap with effective skills training, combined with CSCS training, at Eden Training Academy. #JCTCONTRACTS #faqs Q – I am looking for a Cost Plus type of contract. Which is the most suitable contact to use? A – JCT would not be prescriptive and would leave the choice of contract to users and their advisers. The “Cost Plus” contracts that JCT has produced are the Prime Cost Building Contract (PCC) and the JCT - Constructing Excellence Contract. PCC is a cost reimbursement contract and the JCT – Constructing Excellence Contract (CE) can be used as a cost reimbursement contract in conjunction with a Target Cost and Guaranteed Maximum Cost. For information on PCC, and CE please visit our website. For information on the range of JCT contracts generally see the JCT Practice Note ‘Deciding on the appropriate JCT contract’ which is downloadable from our website. You may also be interested in our range of JCT Training Video Modules which you can purchase from the JCT Online Store.
