One summer activity I strongly recommend is discussing investments with your kids. It's the new "lemonade stand" and a fantastic way to instill financial literacy early on. Recently, I had a transformative conversation with my son, who is gearing up for college this fall. Concerned about the risks in one of his stocks, we seized the opportunity to diversify his portfolio to better match his goals. Investing in Quality Time: A Slam Dunk on and off the Court! Sharing a special moment this week that reminded me of the true value of investing in experiences with our loved ones. I took my son to the Virginia Tech / Clemson game, and it was more than just a night of hoops - it was a lesson in financial wisdom. In the world of finance, it's crucial to balance the numbers, but let's not forget the importance of balancing our lives too! Spending quality time with family creates memories that are truly priceless. Here are a few financial takeaways from our father-son basketball adventure: 1. Value of Experiences: Just like investing in stocks, investing in experiences can yield long-term happiness and fulfillment. The joy on my son's face was the best return on investment! 2. Budgeting Priorities: Just as we allocate funds strategically in our financial portfolios, it's essential to allocate time and resources to what truly matters.
