We wouldn’t be here without VC University! Thanks Adam Sterling for the shoutout and to Maryam Haque and Venture Forward for the support 🌈.
Teaching in VC University has been the highlight of my career. And by teaching, I mean the opportunity to work with our incredible executive students and alumni... Ben Stokes and Patrick Driscoll started their own fund investing in LGBTQ+ founders. Jolynn Vallejo became chief of staff at Kapor Capital. Alyssa Abo, MD, MBA started a new role as Chief Medical Officer at a cutting-edge med tech company. Justis Mendez and his team at OneSixOne Ventures are driving innovation from Miami, while Mariah "Roman" Lichtenstern continues to do the same in Northern California. Daniel Dart and Rock Yard Ventures haven't slowed down out of Cambridge, and neither have Shila Nieves Burney 🇵🇷 and Zane Venture Fund out of Atlanta. Sidney Nakahodo (with Steven Gonzalez) is defining new frontiers with his fund and investments in space tech. Fonz Morris is doing incredible things at Netflix and Irina Azu is doing the same at Airbnb. George Kellerman continues to break new ground in corporate venture. Jobe Danganan, Luciano C. Oviedo, and Damian Felchlin have founded their own startups. Julia Schaletzky continues to innovate from our own backyard at U.C. Berkeley. Karen Sheffield, MBA has become a leading voice in climate tech. Mark Kahn is now an executive coach, "Baller GC," and part-time PA announcer. Ned Sherman joined the c-suite at Skybound Entertainment. There are too many stories to share here! If you're interested in learning more about venture finance, and joining this amazing community, registration for cohort 16 of VC University is now open. https://lnkd.in/gum5D5K A special thanks to our partners at National Venture Capital Association and Venture Forward and program sponsors at Foresite Capital, GV (Google Ventures), Johnson & Johnson Innovation JJDC Inc, Longitude Capital, Mission BioCapital, Omega Funds, Salesforce Ventures, Sofinnova Investments , WilmerHale, and PitchBook.
