We had an interesting chat with our client about their website's traffic and bounce rate, which was around 65%. They asked us, “If my AI agent is giving accurate answers, wouldn’t the average visit duration decrease, and the bounce rate increase because visitors aren’t visiting other pages and are stuck on the landing page?” This got us thinking. " Bounce rate and visit duration can be misleading." A lower bounce rate and higher visit duration might mean users are struggling to find what they need, jumping from page to page. - But if the AI agent is nailing it with the right answers, visitors might either: Stick around and explore more, reducing the bounce rate, or - Leave satisfied and come back later, increasing bounce rate for the right reasons. In the latter case, a higher bounce rate indicates a recurring visitor who trusts your site and your AI. This eventually leads to a potential sales. So, let's not get too hung up on these metrics.
