# Why we pay more for combed yarn compare to carded yarn? >>>Carded Yarn: 🙄 #Processing: Made by passing cotton fibers through a carding machine. Cleans and aligns fibers, removing some impurities and short fibers. #Quality: Contains more impurities and short fibers. Rougher texture and less uniform. #Applications: Commonly used in denim, towels, and flannels. Suitable for lower-quality knitwear and budget-friendly products. >>>Combed Yarn: #Processing: Undergoes additional combing process after carding. Further aligns fibers and removes short fibers and impurities. #Quality: Cleaner, more uniform, and has fewer impurities. Smoother, softer, and stronger due to higher quality. #Applications: Ideal for high-quality fabrics like fine knitwear, T-shirts, and dress shirts. Suitable for bed linens and other soft, premium products. #YarnComparison #TextileTips #CardedYarn #CombedYarn #FabricQuality #TextileIndustry #YarnProcessing #FashionMaterials #TextileScience #YarnPrices

How do you know when you can hand wash or should dry clean delicate items? It can be crucial for maintaining both the aesthetic and structural integrity of certain pieces of clothing. Fibres like wool and cashmere, can contract under the stress of water, leading to shrinkage. Dry cleaning is best for tough, non-organic stains like lipstick. Generally cotton, linen, or polyester blends are safe to hand wash but always do a spot test (somewhere inconspicuous) first. But there are a handful of fabrics that you should absolutely pay attention to the ‘dry clean only’ tag, like viscose, polyamide, items with manufactured pleating, structured pieces like neckties and blazers with shoulder pads, suede, and non-washable leather. . . . #garmentcare #drycleaning #clothingcaresolution #clothing #garments #ties #scarves #handwashonly #fashion #style #tiemaster

In the world of knitting, achieving the perfect gauge is crucial for a successful project. But did you know there’s a difference between blocked and unblocked gauge? 𝗕𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗲 The measurement taken after you’ve washed and blocked your swatch. Blocking can significantly change the size and appearance of your stitches, making it essential to understand how your yarn behaves post-treatment. 𝗨𝗻𝗯𝗹𝗼𝗰𝗸𝗲𝗱 𝗚𝗮𝘂𝗴𝗲 The measurement of your swatch before any blocking. It reflects the yarn’s raw state and may not accurately represent the final dimensions of your project. Knowing both gauges allows you to make informed decisions about your yarn and pattern. 🧵✨ #knitting #gauge #yarn #manufacturing #industry #yarn #ecofriendly #supplier #textile #handmade #knitting #fabric #pattern #crafting #crochet #DIY #gifts #fancy #knitwear #clothing #garment #apparel #retail #brand #quality #CharmkeyYarn

'Drape' refers to the way in which any fabric flows. Crochet fabric is often seen as quite stiff which is great when you're making things like bowls, baskets and amigurumi (toys) but not so great when it comes to garments. For a crochet garment, you need to consider the type of stitch you're using as well as the tension or gauge. Stitches need to be able to move freely and independently from one another, so having an awareness of how many stitches are in each row will help to ensure the stitches aren't packed too tightly for what you want to achieve. The type of material you use is also important - natural fibres like silk, cotton or bamboo are good as are yarns with a lower twist. #demystifycrochet #crochetdrape #crochet #crocheting #crochettermsdemystified #debuggingcrochet #crochetterminology #crochetterms #crochetforbeginners #crochetgarment #crochetgarments

🔍 What is Sweater Gauge? 🧥🧶 The gauge of a sweater measures the number of stitches and rows per inch 📏, crucial for texture, fit, and quality. Key Factors: Yarn Thickness: Thicker yarn 🧵, fewer stitches; thinner yarn, more stitches. Needle Size: Larger needles 🪡, fewer stitches; smaller needles, more stitches. Knitter’s Tension: Tight knitters produce fewer stitches per inch, while loose knitters produce more. Why Gauge Matters: Matching the pattern’s gauge ensures your sweater fits perfectly. Without it, your project may end up too large or small 😟. How to Check Gauge: 1. Knit a 4x4 inch swatch 📐. 2. Measure the stitches and rows per inch. 3. Adjust needle size if necessary and retest. At Woolsouk, we prioritize perfect gauge for beautifully fitting sweaters 🎨. Have you ever been asked whether your clothes are #knitted or #woven? 🤔 Actually, distinguishing between them is very simple: knit #fabrics are formed by continuously looping yarn into coils, while woven fabrics are woven in a parallel or perpendicular manner. However, I believe that the majority of consumers may not pay much attention to the direction of the stitches; #comfort is their top priority. Knit fabrics generally offer superior elasticity and softness compared to woven fabrics. Some even have excellent breathability and special #features such as odor resistance and antibacterial properties, which can effectively reduce the likelihood of bacterial growth. They are widely used in outdoor sports🏃♂️ and workwear, among other fields. 🏕 Do you prefer wearing knitwear or woven #garments? 🙌 #Layo #Fabric #Textile #Fashion #Clothing #Garments #Trends #manufacturing #sustainable #Feature #knitting #woven #Brand
