Unlocking #Innovation in the Most Unexpected Places! I recently came across an incredible video on YouTube that took me by surprise. It showcased the journey of developing a simple, everyday product—a hanger. While I wasn’t expecting to follow a phase-gate process 😅, I was amazed by the flow of ideas, #prototyping, and the level of detail that went into something so seemingly ordinary. Here’s what excited me the most about this video: 1. Solving Problems Customers Don’t Know They Have : It’s fascinating to see how innovation can turn a “Red Ocean” into a “Blue Ocean.” The product addressed needs that most of us never realized existed. 2. Simplicity Meets Scalability : While the wooden prototype looked fantastic, it wasn’t practical for mass production. The challenge was to find a solution that not only worked well but could also be produced at scale. 3. Persistence and Patience in R&D : Three years to design a hanger might seem excessive, but it taught a valuable lesson: The balance between urgency and patience is crucial for breakthrough products. As leaders, we need to walk that fine line—pushing for results while giving the process enough time to deliver something truly extraordinary.
