Someone once told me: "If it's not in TechCrunch, it didn't happen". ❌ Well, here it is - one of my favorite machines is featured. This machine seeds more than 2500 plants in one hour! 🌱 Deep learning meets robotics. A no-code AI platform developed by Robovision allows farmers to deploy deep-learning models and define a new plant type in 15 minutes. It handles over 2500 plants an hour by grasping them in the right place and planting them in trays! Benjie Holson, Director of Robotics at Robust AI, debunks the notion of “The Mythical Non-Roboticist” in his Substack post. He argues that while making robot programming accessible is ideal, simplifying it to the point where essential complexities are overlooked is counterproductive. Holson emphasizes that robotics involves intrinsic challenges due to the unpredictable nature of the real world and that any framework attempting to simplify this must not underestimate the intelligence of its users or ignore the nuances of the task. He advocates for APIs that minimize unnecessary complexity while providing flexibility, and he stresses the importance of designing for specific, real users rather than an undefined group.
