Share this with your chef friends because a lot of chefs are confused with these terms in their resumes. COMMIS & COMMIE are not the same. A "commis" is typically an entry-level position in a kitchen, assisting chefs in various tasks. A designation in the French kitchen hierarchy, the world has adopted. A "commie" is a slang term used to refer to a communist or someone who supports communism. The difference lies in culinary roles versus political ideology. If you are a kitchen assistant from China or south west India, then it’s a different story. lol. So yeah. COMMIS is what should go on a resume. #chefsaichand #commis #resumewriting

Commis in Indian hotels are just helpers or ...... Commis are only used for peeling onions, potatoes, store pickup, and cleaning.
