Where Have the Last 3 Years Gone? Chefs Bay Hospitality is in a celebratory mood as we approach our third anniversary as a recruitment business that rose from the challenges of Covid. What were you doing three years ago? - Listening to Ed Sheeran's Bad Habits - Looking forward to Mamma Mia returning to the West End - Watching the Olympics through the night from Tokyo - Marveling at the 14 elephants on their 300-mile trek across China - Escaping to Sicily as Europe recorded its highest-ever temperature of 48.8°C - Wondering how a Seychelles giant tortoise, previously thought to be herbivorous, could hunt and eat a bird - Observing the restrictions on under-18s in China, limiting their online gaming to just one hour on Fridays, weekends, and holidays. Well, while all of that was happening, we were busy starting Chefs Bay Hospitality. Founded in August 2021, our journey began with Director Michael Szalaty, who quickly started recruiting talent and connecting experienced chefs with our first clients. The demand for skilled culinary professionals post-Covid meant things took off swiftly. To meet this demand, Jack Day joined Michael to assist with recruitment. With over 20 years of international experience as a head chef, Jack brought invaluable knowledge and expertise to the table. His deep understanding of the industry allowed him to effectively communicate with both clients and candidates, ensuring the right connections were made. By 2022, we welcomed Demi-Lea Dures to our team, who brought extensive experience from a large hospitality recruitment company. Demi-Lea took over the responsibility of staffing and was instrumental in refining our processes, making them more efficient and effective. This allowed Jack to focus on business development, ensuring that our services continued to expand and evolve. In 2023, Michael Wookey joined our temp staffing team. With a background in internal recruitment and a strong focus on customer service, Mike has brought valuable experience from his previous companies, further strengthening our team. At the beginning of 2024, we were excited to bring Barry Dilworth on board. With 30 years of expertise in contract catering, Barry has enhanced our understanding of the market and client needs. We’re proud to say that we still work with the majority of clients we partnered with in 2021 and 2022. This enduring trust is a testament to our commitment to delivering exceptional service and building long-lasting business relationships. As for the future? We'll see where it takes us, but we're excited to continue growing and supporting the hospitality industry.
