You’ve heard of generative AI, but have you ever heard of Generative Chemistry? Last week I watched a mindblowing episode from the Microsoft Cloud 'Future of Cloud' webinar series where they dove into digital R&D and the new groundbreaking advancements set to revolutionize scientific discovery as we know it. Generative Chemistry is a key aspect of the AI-driven scientific method, transforming hypothesis generation, experimentation, and knowledge management. It connects the dots across these complex processes, acting as an orchestrator to call upon specialized models and techniques. Here's why Generative Chemistry is revolutionary: 🔬 It allows scientists to generate millions of candidates, increasing the search space for potential solutions. 🔬 By leveraging this technology, researchers can go beyond their own knowledge and biases, tapping into the collective genius of the scientific community. 🔬 This innovation helps discover brand new molecules, atomic structures, and potential products, pushing the boundaries of what is possible. Adrian Dumitrascu highlights that Generative Chemistry also guides chemists on optimal material synthesis, accelerating the journey from discovery to final product. Another favorite moment of mine was seeing Ester De Nicolás demonstrate the new, more sustainable battery they designed using Azure Quantum Elements to condense two decades of material discovery into two weeks. I highly recommend watching the whole episode! Fascinating stuff, Chelsea! Thanks for sharing your insights. It's amazing how this branch of GenAI specifically supports the scientific community and has a huge potential to reshape science and technology!
This really stood out for me from the webinar too Chelsea! Ground breaking on so many levels. And the speed at which these discoveries can now be made is at the heart of what makes it such a game changer - I mean, two decades into two weeks!
Thanks for sharing Chelsea Larson-Andrews

9moUltimately, virtuality of digital systems will seep into physicality of the world and Cloud will play a huge role in this transition! Digital R&D is our first step into this new reality! We are just getting started! I was just thinking this yesterday that why don't we hear good old economy, companies like Unilever anymore on CNBC. GenAI will change that real tangible world in coming years and decades by lowering the cost of research in Material Sciences Cost in Academia and Industry! Great segment!
