I get asked about the ROI of #decisionintelligence a lot. 📈 In biz we measure externals (time, cost, and visible results). But in sports, we measure 📈 externals (speed, score, record) AND internals 🦄 (resilience, recovery, and self-trust). 🏈 When an athlete experiences a prolonged losing streak, the most important measurement becomes resilience. ⚽ When they experience a career-threatening injury, the most important measurement becomes recovery. 🎾 When they are making game-deciding decisions (in milliseconds), the most important measurement becomes self-trust. Human decision intelligence is interested in measuring resilience, recovery, and self-trust. There are no greater internal skills from which to make decisions. In my own experience, focusing on building internal skills (mindset) versus external actions (behavior) sustains the behavior AND increases its authenticity.
