Answer for day 2 Process Engineering Questions I can reply Hydraulic horsepower : is Net power acquired by Process liquid to raise its head from Ps(Suction Pressure) to Pd (Discharge Pressure). Brake Horsepower = Shaft Power = Hydraulic Power/ Pump efficiency Electric Motor Power = Brake Horsepower/ motor efficiency Overloaded vs non overloaded is When you need Electric Motor horsepower = 5.7 hp And as per standard On shelf items 5hp and 7.5 hp The 5 hp is overloaded as it is less than needed and will run on overloaded till damage. While 7.5 hp is non overloaded when you run at full capacity, motor will not be overloaded. Optimum pressure drop in line at pump suction A) for bubble point fluid = 0.11 bar/100m B) for subcooled fluid =0.454 bar/100m Finally, I hope these answers add value to all

Split Range Control:👇 In process control, a split-range control loop is a strategy where a single manipulated variable influences two or more control valves in opposite directions. This allows for the control of two separate processes or variables using a single controller. For example, in a heating and cooling system, a split-range control loop might use one valve to increase heat while simultaneously using another valve to decrease cooling, maintaining a balance and achieving better overall control.
