Today marks a significant milestone as we announce the closing of our $20 million Series A funding. This funding will allow us to scale global operations to meet the growing demand for EV batteries and accelerate our cutting-edge GenAI and battery development roadmap. From day one, we adopted an AI-first, data-first approach and created our own battery lab. In less than three years, our team has curated a vast amount of data through extensive physical experimentation to fully leverage cutting-edge GenAI. This AI flywheel that combines GenAI + highly automated experimentation + high volume and quality proprietary data will continuously allow us to rapidly discover and optimize novel material formulations and battery configurations tailored for diverse EV verticals. It has been a busy summer for Chemix, and we have some exciting updates to share! We’ve recently moved to a 20,000 sq. ft. facility in Sunnyvale, CA to support our growing operations (see below). We’re also excited to welcome the following talented individuals to our team: Thomas Schumann joins Chemix as a Director of Intelligent Hardware Engineering with 35+ years of experience. He’s developed solutions for battery management systems for automotive EV and residential battery storage markets. He has collaborated with major European OEM automakers to advance the state-of-the-art battery management systems in the EV market. Anirudh Suresh, Ph.D. joins Chemix as a Machine Learning Engineer focused on building and deploying our AI models. He has extensive experience in deep learning and optimization algorithms and has previously worked on applications in materials science. Da Yang Ph.D. joins Chemix as a Senior Software Engineer. He has a Ph.D. in computational physics and a comprehensive technical background, with extensive experience developing software for systems that interface with the physical world. Alan Kuo joins Chemix as a Research Engineer with a background in autonomous battery data collection, failure analysis, chemical engineering and materials science. He has degrees from Georgia Tech and UC Berkeley. Yifan Ma Ph.D. joins Chemix as a Battery Scientist with 8+ years of R&D experience in energy storage materials and electrochemistry. She holds a Ph.D. with a focus on improving rechargeable battery performance and sustainability and a master's degree in Computer Science and Engineering. Chemix continues to drive vertically integrated innovation to “AI-fy” the energy storage industry. Stay tuned for more updates soon!

Today, Chemix welcomes Anirban D., Ph.D., as our Vice President of Quality and Industrialization! Anirban brings over 20 years of extensive experience in manufacturing, product development, quality, and supplier engineering across multiple industries, including consumer electronics, energy, and advanced materials. He has successfully managed contract manufacturers and suppliers for renowned companies like Apple and Tesla, and played a pivotal role in the supplier industrialization for Tesla’s batteries and electrodes. Anirban recently spearheaded the industrialization of one of North America's earliest LFP Gigafactory. His impressive expertise in product industrialization and quality improvement, along with his PhD in Materials Science, makes him an invaluable addition to our team. #AI #Innovation #batteries #NewHire
