As it is Time to Talk Day, we thought it would be a great opportunity to promote the world's biggest mental health conversation 👏 Mental health is a critical issue and we have a number of our team members across Europa who fundraise for mental health charities throughout the year as part of our 50-50 match funding scheme. This year, our Birmingham-based Europa Air & Sea Business Development Manager, Sean Keeley, will be doing just this: running not 1...but 4 ultra-marathons in May, June, August and November! 💪 Sean is part of the Sobriety and Summits Group - an organisation focused on raising awareness on how going sober plus regular daily exercise can positively affect your mental and physical health. Sean's fundraising will go towards the Mental Health Foundation, Alcohol Change UK and the National Trust. Sean's story is truly inspiring, and we'll be routing for him all the way. Sadly, mental health issues weigh heavily on the EU. It's clear that enhancing mental well-being is crucial not only socially but also economically, especially in light of the challenges posed by the COVID-19 pandemic. Shockingly, the WHO found that during the first year of the pandemic, global rates of anxiety and depression surged by 25%. The goal of this fundraiser is for one of our supporters to bike as far as possible within the 24 hours. The goal is 300 kilometers, but let's see what adventures the journey brings! At the end of the 24 hours, we will donate 1€ for each kilometer cycled! Join the bike ride! There will be regular updates from our friend to the GoFundMe page so you can see what is happening. Taking strides for a good cause! Last week saw the team kick of our ‘Movement March’ walkathon challenge to support our charity of the year, Shropshire Mental Health Support. One week in, we’ve collectively taken an impressive 1,210,814 steps…with competition for the top stepper at an unprecedented level.
