It was a pleasure to join Chad Anderson for his Space Capital podcast recently and talk about the future of space economy, diving deeper into the World Economic Forum's recent publication https://lnkd.in/eGPwP7TK, done in collaboration with McKinsey & Company. The big part of the growth in the coming 10 years when it comes to space will be about the different kinds of data that space provides us with (imaging, connectivity, positioning, navigation and timing signals) and what this data enables us to do on the ground. This happens across a wide spectrum of our societal activities - predicting weather and monitoring the climate, helping run, navigate and optimize maritime and road traffic, ensuring financial transaction timing, supporting education and telemedicine in rural communities, providing effective disaster response and many many others. These activities will be propelling the space economy forward and as a result, also fueling the launch and satellite industry. Of course, we will soon have commercial space stations, expanding lunar activities, and other exciting things taking place in space, but in the near term at least, these will be relatively small compared to the value of data from space.
