As different industries look to enter the accounting space—whether it’s technology, wealth management, or insurance—the underlying appeal is clear. For investors, it’s not just about the numbers; it’s about finding a solid, dependable business model that can deliver consistent returns.

Is private equity coming after your firm? More and more accountancy firms are now in the hands of private equity where they will, inevitably, scale, and eventually exit. The latest in the UK is Grant Thornton which would be another major shift against the traditional partnership model. In a further twist to the old model, it may also be incorporated it into the US entity for increased international reach. But does this trend, which is likely to continue, incentivise current and future partners if a large portion of the equity is in the hands of PE?
