Hey there, Let's talk about something important: the silence of our most passionate people. It's not just about the absence of noise—it's about a missed opportunity for growth and innovation. Picture this: when our most passionate team members go silent, it's like losing the heartbeat of our organization. Their energy and ideas are what drive us forward, so when they stop speaking up, it's time to pay attention. Here's the scoop: instead of letting their silence go unnoticed, let's create a culture where everyone feels heard and valued. Encourage open communication, seek out their input, and show appreciation for their passion and dedication. Because when we listen to our most passionate people, we unlock a world of possibilities. Now, I want to hear from you: how do you ensure that your most passionate team members feel empowered to speak up? Let's share our strategies and inspire each other to keep the conversation going! Catch you later,

Over the years, I have hired many church staffers in worship, production, video, and communications. A key trait that I look for when hiring these key team members is curiosity. There are certain characteristics that I have found to be universally present in people who are still growing – they want to know more about what they do, they are passionate about expanding boundaries, and they are always on the lookout for ideas. These ideas can pop up anywhere. When we are children, we are constantly observing, combining ideas, innovating, and imagining. In many ways, this makes kids much better at ideation than we are. The boxes in which we adults place things don’t exist yet for them – for instance, an adult looks at a zoo and an amusement park as two different things, whereas combining them is the most natural thing in the world for kids. Part of the secret of maintaining this curiosity is simply not to buy into the lie that ministry work is a negative experience. Our culture inundates us with messaging that work and effort are something to be avoided, when they actually provide a key part of our makeup as humans. Feeling useless leads to depression and anxiety – the next time you’re going down that road, spend some time with a kid or two and learn how to get curious again... “The most sophisticated people I know – inside they are all children.” – Jim Henson

Here are strategies to create a supportive environment for open, respectful discussions: 𝗦𝗲𝘁 𝗖𝗹𝗲𝗮𝗿 𝗚𝘂𝗶𝗱𝗲𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀 Establish ground rules that encourage respectful communication, active listening, and openness. In order to be successful, an organisation needs to embrace the feels 💞 (and no, I'm not talking about the Greg Wallace kind 😳😳) So please let's stop: 📦 Putting colleagues into boxes 🏷️ Giving them labels 🤐 Silencing their voices 🤦♀️ Telling them how to behave 💩 Ignoring their opinions Instead, let's create environments where voices can be heard, where people are treated as individuals, and where our differences are embraced and celebrated. When we enable our colleagues to be their true authentic selves at work; we are enabling them to be their best selves at work. When they are their best selves at work; they will deliver brilliant outcomes! Basically because they feel valued, recognised, appreciated. No rocket science here 🧪 Allow people to be who they are. It really is as simple as that. And if you don't believe me, just ask your HR Team; they will back me up on this.

**When Employees Stay Silent, It Says A Lot** 💬 If your employees aren’t speaking up, it doesn’t mean: * They’re all shy ~ 🫣🙊 * They have no ideas. Most of the time, it means they don’t feel safe to voice their thoughts. To all leaders: 🙋♂️🤝 → Create an environment where open communication is the norm. → Welcome feedback, whether it’s small or constructive. →Build trust so everyone feels heard and valued. When your team feels safe to share, even the quietest voices can lead to breakthrough ideas. 🔊🔊 Repost to help your network build a healthier company culture. ♻️♻️ ❤️👈
