Two new apps, Soluna and BrightLife Kids, offer round-the-clock mental health care for young kids and teens in California 💗 "Really what we're doing with these apps through the Children and Youth Behavioral Health Initiative is trying to get access to care in kids' hands - where they need it, when they need it, and meeting kids literally where they're at," says Autumn Boylan, M.P.H. the deputy director for California Department of Health Care Services. At TutoTOONS, we believe that mental well-being is essential to a child's life and should start as early as possible ⭐ Do you have similar apps that cater to kids in your country? Would kids benefit if we had more of them? Read the article in the comments and share your thoughts! 💭 #TutoTOONS #Kids #GameDev #EdTech

In my previous post, I mentioned that #MentalHealthApps, once highly anticipated, especially for #CognitiveBehavioralTherapy, didn’t last. We still need to understand why. I noted one possible reason: that mental health professionals often had minor roles in these startups, and solid science was overlooked as too expensive. Today, I will proceed with another view on why #MentalHealthTech failed. Here’s the argument: Even high-quality apps like Calm and Headspace show: 🔺 97% of users quit within two weeks 🔺 Half the time, no positive effects from daily use Researchers concluded: “Many e-mental health programs are overly pedantic, didactic, and cognitively focused.” They’re often just theories in multimedia form, boring and ineffective. Yet, #CognitiveBehavioralTherapy needs action and practice. The solution? #Gamification. This is a promising new area for future projects. For now, such apps are rare and mostly for children. The video shows one such app, #eQuoo by PsycApps Digital Mental Health Solutions, which educates teens on coping with stress and depression. Can you envision a similar app for adults? #TechTrends #HealthTech #Cyfrania
