𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭 𝐃𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐢𝐤 (𝐃𝐨𝐦), 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐃𝐢𝐫𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐨𝐫 𝐨𝐟 𝐎𝐍𝐄𝐃𝐏 I arrived in Southampton, UK, at the end of 2004 and have lived there ever since. At the age of 19, I did not know what to expect. It was a completely new country and culture, and everything was new for me. At first, I came here to "steal" your job… 😂🙂 ... anyway where was I at..., yes, BUT... Now, after 20 years... I have finally decided to give it all back through my ONEDP Recruitment business. 🙂 My career began in a flower factory, where I worked in quality control. Later, I joined Lidl, where I improved my English and learned how to work with people. After that, I worked in construction on railway projects and civil engineering. A fun fact: I was also a professional painter! After some time in construction, I moved into logistics as a delivery driver. In 2012, I started working in recruitment. I climbed the ladder in different recruitment companies and industries through hard work, dedication, and persistence. Today, I run my own business! It has been seven months since I launched ONEDP, and it has not been easy, but this hasn't changed my approach and end goal. The long hours and many sacrifices have been challenging, but they are finally paying off. Now, I work with 10 clients and have built a flow of temporary and permanent job roles. And if you asked me if I would do it all over again, my answer would be "YES!" My determination, strong will, and core values define who I am. Working with people from different backgrounds has helped shape me into a professional. My wide range of experience helps me understand the industrial, logistics, and manufacturing sectors, as well as construction. That is my story. What is yours? Why not connect and support each other's journey? #CareerJourney #Recruitment #ONEDP

I’ve been to jobs where they have used my ambitions against me, where they felt threatened by me having my own company. Being in #HR was the worse. Maybe, because it was female dominated. On site, there are plenty of people who have their own business or self-employed. I’ve met people who are #carpenters, build barn sheds, consultants, trainers, work in their family’s construction business and one colleague just recently opened a pizzeria and work in their business on the weekends (I followed the business IG page). Some people even have multiple jobs (cleaning, food delivery, etc.). Our extra activities outside of work are known and not hidden. Even the guy who ran the #temporaryworks coordinator training course I did not too long ago, did it as a weekend side hustle and works for a major #civil / #structural engineering firm. Two weeks ago I had a conversation with a Manager and he said that he has never worked for anyone since he left school (always been a contractor). That had me thinking about the benefits of contracting vs. employment. What I noticed is that the people on site was just as ambitious as me. I love ❤️ it! I’m in my bag (“The act of becoming one with whatever task you are trying to achieve. One dimensional. Tunnel vision. Grindin”, Urban Dictionary) and love being around people who know how to make things happen. My ambition is not a problem and it never affects my work. In fact, no one’s side hustle, business has had any effect on the output they put in at work. So, why is it an issue elsewhere? This, I’m still trying to figure out but I think I’ve found my industry home and absolutely love it here. #construction #womeninconstruction #constructionindustry #constructionengineering #engineering #oilandgas #renewableenergy #infrastructure #constructionsite #buildinginfrastructure

The average #buildingcontrol surveyor gets about 6 messages a week from recruiters with often irrelevant jobs. Ultimately, we all go to work for a salary but eye catching £100k salaries won’t be available to most. However, I’ve got jobs all over the country which I can tailor the job search around making every part of work better. There’s no point swapping positions if it doesn’t make your life better. And more than just financially as well. Here’s a snapshot of the roles I am looking at and their rough locations. It’s not exhaustive, there are others. Class 2A or 2AB 📍Devon 📍Cornwall 📍North London (EN postcodes) 📍North London (NW postcodes) 📍Yorkshire (LS or HU or YO or S or HD postcodes) 📍Lancashire (WN or BL postcodes) 📍Bristol (BS) 📍Nottingham (NG) 📍West Sussex (RH or BN) 📍Oxford (OX) Class 2C-F 📍South London (SE or SW) 📍Surrey (CR or GU) 📍Manchester (M or BL or SK) 📍Bath (BA and BS) 📍Liverpool (L) 📍Warrington and Wigan (WA, WN) 📍Chester (CH) 📍Essex (SS or CM) Class 3 (option to apply for 2F Surveyors 📍London 📍Leeds 📍Bristol 📍Birmingham 📍Newcastle 📍Cardiff 📍Liverpool and Chester 📍Manchester The class won’t be the only thing you’ll look at. It just gives you an idea. I’ll be able to give you a full breakdown of what each role entails, all of the benefits, the expectations and how the role will develop with you beyond 6 months to 5 years. I’ll ask you quite a few questions but that’s so I can find positions you’ll actually enjoy which will be a hell of a lot less annoying. The same can’t be said for this goat at the weekend. He thought I was annoying. #registeredbuildinginspector #rbi #bsr #buildingregulations #newjob

Brrrr ☃ at least no one can deny that the opportunities I am recruiting for are far hotter than this weather!!! BUILDING SURVEYORS 🔥 The Carriera team are retained on a super exciting 'team expansion' campaign with one of London's most thriving consultancies. We are working a variety of vacancies of growth and critical hires... On offer: ☀ Unreal diversity in workload and clients ☀ Opportunity to work at one of the most market-resilient firms.. historically they've actually thrived throughout any economic downturn.. so any one concerned for job security, needn't be!! ☀ Top rate salaries and packages - it truly is a firm who values and rewards their staff accordingly. ☀ Large enough existing team to facilitate a project/ technical/ service line specialism. ☀ Whether you are an experienced APC Building Surveyor or a Partner level Building Surveyor (or anything in between..) - there is scope for you to progress your career with a fantastic position at this firm. What's not to like?! Please do reach out if you'd like to discuss your situation, and I'll merrily explain how it could potentially be improved (or not, honesty is the best policy after all).. but I am a real fan girl of this particular client! 📸 taken at the weekend, a rare snippet of Welsh sun. Manifesting warmer days. 07399 735 195 / charker@carriera.co.uk Carriera Limited Elliot Wright Lewis West Oliver Hampson #carriera #carrieralimited #carrierarecruitment #buildingsurveying #opportunity #recruitment
