ELDICO Scientific AG is happy to announce the successful delivery and installation of the ED-1 at the Max-Planck-Institut für Kohlenforschung, in Mülheim an der Ruhr, Germany. The new large scale instrument has been provided to evaluate whether it can usefully complement the analytical capabilities of the Institute's Chemical #Crystallography department. The ELDICO ED-1 will extent the existing range of techniques, including #SCXRD, #PXRD, #SEM and #TEM, broadening the range of solid compound analysis available to researchers at the MPI für Kohlenforschung. What sets the ELDICO ED-1 apart is its ability to provide #crystalstructure analysis from micrograms of sample material (#nanocrystals). This capability opens up new avenues of exploration for researchers across the various fields in the institute working on heterogenic catalysis, organo-catalysis, organometallic chemistry, and organic chemistry among other areas of catalysis. The advantages offered by the ELDICO ED-1 are expected to accelerate breakthroughs in the research endeavors, enabling the institute to gain deeper insights into the properties and behaviors of solid compounds. I am deeply honored to share that my lastest co-authored publication is alive on American Chemical Society. In this study, we explored the "Temporal Resolution of Activity-Related Solvation Dynamics in the TIM Barrel Enzyme Murine Adenosine Deaminase (mADA)." Our findings highlight the significant role of protein scaffold motions in metal-based nucleophilic catalysis within the TIM barrel family. By investigating the temperature and time dependence of solvation dynamics at the enzyme's surface, we uncovered crucial insights into the enthalpic activation barriers to catalysis in mADA. This work has profound implications for understanding enzyme catalysis and could pave the way for future research into the thermal activation of enzyme reactions.
