At its Richmond refinery in Northern California, Chevron is blending a new type of renewable gasoline from biomass and conventional components that could reduce life cycle carbon dioxide emissions by more than 40% compared to traditional gasoline. In 2023, Chevron demonstrated the new fuel blend as part of a special road trip called the Future Fuel Showcase. Renewable gasoline blends use a variety of feedstocks and technologies to achieve carbon intensity reductions. We took this truck across the country and there are many different conditions and it performed exactly the same as our regular gasoline car, which is very exciting because the performance is really, really strong and you're achieving lower carbon and lower emissions. No one company, no one industry, no one country alone can act to develop solutions to meet the world's energy and climate goals. We need partnerships across multiple different sectors. Our partnership with Toyota is another example of how we are accelerating progress. In a major step forward for renewable fuel blends, Chevron delivered a shipment of its renewable gasoline blend to Toyota's Portland Vehicle Logistics Operations. The fuel is being used as a pilot to provide the first few gallons of gas to help in the transport of the vehicle to the dealership. Currently, the site process is approximately 450 units a day. This is just a start to see how the process might work. Delivery of Chevron's renewable gasoline and we're using that for the first fill for our vehicles arriving here at the Port of Portland. The field was brought in by a fuel truck and used to fill the existing infrastructure tanks, which then dispersed the gasoline directly to the vehicles through the conventional gas pumps from the outside. And for those involved, it looks and acts no different from the gasoline people have been using. But the overall process means less carbon dioxide emissions. We tested this fuel before it arrived here at the port and it performed well on both new and older vehicles. It operates just like normal gasoline. Lower carbon liquid fuels are the only potentially viable lower carbon option for the legacy vehicles on the road today, vehicles that will remain on the road for years to come. Meeting emissions goals were require more cooperation across industries. It's why companies like Toyota and Chevron are working together. Together, we can offer more effective solutions.
