A realistic pathway to becoming a medical doctor from the moment you graduate high school and on: - Graduate from high school with strong academics - Attend and finish college – 4 years - Earn a bachelor’s degree - Complete prerequisite courses for medical school - Take the Medical College Admission Test (MCAT) - Apply to medical school - Attend and finish medical school – 4 years - Complete a residency training program +/- fellowship training programs in your desired field – 3-7 years - Complete a fellowship in a subspecialty area 1-3 years Not every job has an entry-level position with a one stop shop pipeline attached to it. Sometimes they require years worth of work, maybe even greater than a decade. Trying to get into tech? Don't be upset about the gatekeepers. In fact, don't even think about them or allow yourself to believe in them. Look up the job descriptions of the jobs you're trying to get and master the skills listed there. Be positive, be consistent, and work hard every single day. You're competing with thousands of others that want the same jobs you do. It isn't that people hate those without experience. It's that there's so many trying to get in that there aren't enough jobs to compensate every single person. Whether you like it or not, it is the real world and it is a competition. How will you stand out from the rest?

I was 19, pre-med, and failing chemistry. My advisor said I should "go to graduate school and do something else." I went to medical school instead. I've heard a similar story out of the mouths of too many pre-meds'. What's scary is that we'll never know the number of pre-meds who gave up on their dreams. I could just tell pre-meds, "Don't give up." But, it's not that easy when an authority figure tells a young impressionable pre-med that her dream is impossible. So, understand this: 💎 Failing a class doesn't eliminate you from medical school. 💎 Not all pre-med advisors know what it takes to get into med school. 💎 Don't keep going to prove someone wrong, keep going to prove to your yourself you were right! #doctor #medicine #medschool #premed #premedadvisors #determination

Clinical Trials Liasion, Consultant, + Connector: Connecting Sponsors, CROs, & Pharma to Resources, Doctors, Sites, & more! I post content with clinical trial tips, strategies & insights to help you thrive in research.
If you are a medical professional or researcher, how many hours do you dedicate to learning a new skill that will help you personally and professionally? I believe that a different type of learning starts after medical school. Learning outside medicine can open our minds to new ideas and experiences. After medical school, especially if you did not get into residency right away, I believe some of us start to be conscientious of what we want for our future. Still, we experience this feeling of guilt for looking outside the healthcare system and/or practicing medicine. As we value our well-being and families more, we question whether this path is right for us. 👩🔬 Do you feel the same way? 👨🔬 How can we advocate for each other and other doctors? I found my passion in research and teaching others, but I still love medicine. If you want to learn more about clinical trials, don't hesitate to DM me and read my newsletter. Link in My Bio! PS: I am new to Twitter; :) https://lnkd.in/eHFeYzHb Best, Jennipher #medicine #research #md #mbbs #img #clinicaltrials #doctors #career #life
