The Russians are trying to use relatives of #Ukrainian prisoners of war to foment internal discontent in #Ukraine, according to the latest report by the U.S.-based Institute for the Study of War released on March 16. The Russian agencies are likely to be acting as part of the Maidan-3 information campaign. #Ukrainian Parliamentary Commissioner for Human Rights Dmytro Lubinets said on March 16 that unknown Russian citizens were calling relatives of Ukrainian prisoners of war, claiming that Moscow was ready to return the captives but that the Ukrainian government was allegedly preventing this. The Russians are also calling on relatives to protest in this regard. @Lubinets noted that Ukraine has never stopped exchanging prisoners of war. The ISW suggests that these Russian information operations are likely part of the Maidan-3 information campaign, which was previously reported by Ukraine’s SBU security service. The analysts believe that the Russians want to stir up enmity between the civilian population and the military and political leadership of Ukraine. Russia has experience in successfully using such operations. Earlier, Russians corresponded via cell phones with the Ukrainian population to incite violent protests in Ukraine, ISW writes. The last prisoner exchange took place on Feb. 8. Ukraine returned 49 soldiers of the National Guard of Ukraine, 25 border guards, 26 soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, including 11 territorial defense fighters. Lubinets reported earlier that 2,800 bodies and fragments of Ukrainian soldiers had been identified in Ukraine. The SBU reported that the Russian special operation "Maidan-3" would culminate in March-May 2024. A representative of Ukraine’s Defense Intelligence (HUR), Andriy Chernyak, told the media on Nov. 28, 2023, that, according to Ukrainian intel, Russia had allocated approximately $250,000 for the Maidan-3 information operation aimed at inciting hatred, exacerbating contradictions in Ukraine, and spreading fear and panic. https://lnkd.in/dE_n2y3b

October 7th will always be a somber day of remembrance for Jews (and others) around the world. Reporting on it is important. And journalists need to add context to the story of 1200 killed and 250 taken hostage on that day. In a quick review of some reporting this morning, I see context missing. Just as 9/11 began more than a decade of war and death, so 10/7/2023 began a year of horrific war that continues today and has on-going affects on your American audience, from weapons sold to election campaigns. Context and accuracy demand that we also remind our audience of the 42,000+ Palestinians killed in the on-going conflict — more than half were women and children. Terrorism and War are complicated, fight the urge to simplify them. Add context and report on the consequences. https://lnkd.in/gurF9v4G

Burning the #AmericanFlag and scrawling "#Hamas," a U.S. designated #terrorist organization, on public #monuments in our Nation's #Capitol is absolutely odious. Exactly how are these tactics, as well as dumping insects in the #WashingtonDC hotel where Prime Minister #Netanyahu is staying, effective in swaying the #opinion of Americans, who are undecided about the war in #Gaza or the #Israeli-#Palestinian Conflict more generally? While I have some policy differences with Prime Minister Netanyahu, the Gaza War, started by Hamas with its #massacre of 1200 people in #Israel on #October7, certainly is just and necessary. In his speech yesterday, he was absolutely correct in calling out these #protestors as being #usefulidiots likely supported by #Iran or other #antidemocratic #regimes. Perhaps such disgusting protest #tactics are not intended to change any hearts and minds in #America, but rather are targeted for for internal #propaganda consumption in #Iran, #Russia or elsewhere. Regardless, #college and #university #students will soon be returning to their respective #campuses. Unlike last semester, such conduct cannot be tolerated. #Administrators must enforce their codes of conduct on day one. While all Americans have #FirstAmendment rights, they have no right to break the law. And when university #codes or #laws are broken, there must be #accountability. #israelhamaswar #gazawar #terrorism #warcrimes #terrorist #zionism #antizionism #antizionist #jew #jews #judaism #antisemite #antisemitism #doublestandard #haters #hate #religiousfreedom #palestine #extremism #extremist #civilrights #postsecondary #lawenforcement #police #fbi #bringthemhome #jihad #isalm #radical #hatecrime #ivyleague #autocractic #yemen #hezzbollah #putin #uis #jihad #hatecrime #vandalism #crime #criminallaw #criminal

Imran Khan was accused by the U.S. of "aggressive neutrality" (doublethink much?) for not supporting NATO in Ukraine. He's since gotten a ten-year prison term for supposedly compromising Pakistan's state-secrets digital security system because he quoted from the diplomatic cable in which he was accused of "aggressive neutrality", even though Pakistan's own ISI spy agency wrote in a since-leaked report that the number of words he quoted was orders of magnitude smaller than the text length required to compromise the encryption. He has gotten an additional seven years for supposedly not divorcing a previous wife before marrying a new one. His conviction on questionable corruption charges added another 14 years. The response of the U.S. Department of State was simply that they take no position on the decisions of Pakistani courts. Pakistan has since begun sending arms to Kyiv. This is U.S.-supported "regime change", harkening back to when it was considered fair game in international relations to conspire in subverting elections in other nations with the help of those nations' militaries. An unnerving difference here: Pakistan's military has nuclear weapons. What could go wrong?

LISTEN to ANTI-TERROR police question this boy in recording in article. This is pure INTIMIDATION by the state. Human rights group, Liberty, are extremely concerned. They questioned him and his mum like protesting against a genocide is a SIGN OF TERRORISM. "There are lots of conflicts, why this one?" Would you ask a Jewish person why they felt a particular AFFINITY to THEIR people being GENOCIDED, during the holocaust because there's lots of conflicts in the world? It's a stupid question. But apparently this cop isn't HUMAN and needs this explained. Muslims and Christian Palestinians are being GENOCIDED. More bombs have been dropped in Gaza in weeks than in years in Afghanistan. More people have been killed in Gaza in weeks than in years in Ukraine. Israel's slow 75 year GENOCIDE has accelerated to the point it's EXISTENTIAL for Gaza. They're trying to kill, maim and starve them. And send terrified, STARVED, desparate SURVIVORS running to the Sinai. They're trying to ETHNICALLY CLEANSE them from their land. Millions are marching every week, across the globe. But apparently this cop doesn't watch the news and needs this explained. We've already had a Palestinian kid who wore a small Palestine patch stitched on the sleeve of his coat, who's family members have been KILLED in Gaza, SENT HOME FROM SCHOOL! For a month! Then parents were sent letters THREATENING their kids could be referred to PREVENT! Which is supposed to be for stopping those showing signs they might become TERRORISTS! It's supposed to "identify people who may turn to extremism." https://lnkd.in/eFEVQE23 ANTI TERROR police and PREVENT are supposed to be about PREVENTING TERRORISM. Instead they are being used POLITICALLY, to INTIMIDATE and THREATEN those speaking up for Palestine, against the GENOCIDE being committed against them. https://lnkd.in/ebRxc8VW Being shown they will be LABELLED terrorists or terrorist sympathisers if they SHOW SUPPORT FOR PALESTINE. This is McCarthyism. This is the STATE ABUSING POWER. Trying to frame SUPPORTING PALESTINE as supporting terrorism.🤯 THREATENING civilians. That if they exercise their RIGHTS, their freedom of EXPRESSION, freedom to PROTEST, they will be TARGETTED by the state, FALSELY LABELLED and PUNISHED. Imagine being a parent told that the state will put your kid on the PREVENT program for kids showing signs of extremism, if they don't stop openly supporting Palestine. THIS IS PURE INTIMIDATION. And an ABUSE OF POWER by the state. https://lnkd.in/eeVcaPFV

For those reading from around the world, so you don't get distracted from the truth: 1- Although they are being called terrorists, extremists, and radicals, American students are protesting the bombing to death of more than 30,000 people in Gaza by Israel with the support, backing, and funding of the United States government led by President Joe Biden, most of them innocent women and children. 2- Israel began bombing Gaza following the October 7, 2023, attack by Hamas that left more than 1,200 people dead in Israel, most of them innocent civilians. 3- But the conflict between Israel and Palestine did not start on October 7. It's been going on for decades. 4- Many US administrations have tried to bring about peace between Israel and Palestine, and the official US position is that Palestine should become a state, which is often called a two-state solution. 5- That means Palestine and Israel should live peacefully as two states, two neighbors. Many in Israel reject this solution as impracticable. 6- As everyone knows, there seems to be no other solution. So the conflict has been going on for decades with different leaders on both sides, with rockets flying from Gaza to Israel and missiles from Israel to Gaza with no solution in sight. This is because the world has failed to resolve the crisis, hiding behind half-measures that will never work, pretending to try to resolve the solution but not really dealing with the real issue. 7- American students have had enough and have been protesting for months. 8- The media and the elite, in their attempt to discredit them, have described them as radicals, terrorists, terrorist sympathizers, and extremists. 9- The protesters have been mostly peaceful, even with no police presence on campuses. 10- Just like on January 6, 2021, you can decide to focus on the protesters who were clashing with the police, disobeying police orders, breaking windows at the US Capitol, and trespassing to conclude that most of the Republican protesters who were there were violent or as the left calls them domestic terrorists. 11- Over 99.9 percent of the protesters have been mostly peaceful. 12- The official narrative is that journalists must describe them as violent, terrorists, radicals, and extremists. They must also focus on the 0.1 percent who get violent to label all of them as violent. 13- The official narrative is also that you should not focus on the bombing to death of innocent civilians in Gaza; instead, you should focus only on Israelis killed on October 7 and the people still being held hostages, including a few Americans. 14- That dishonesty is widespread in the media and comments sections on social media. Anyone who tries to state all the facts, the killing of Israelis, the hostages, the killing of Palestinians, and the long-term solution, is attacked and branded as a terrorist or terrorist sympathizer.

U.S. Department of State 2023 Human Right Report on #Ethiopia ፡ Reports of widespread unlawful killings of civilians and government officials in #Amhara and #Oromia regions and elsewhere, including by the Oromo Liberation Army. Local militia groups in Afar, Oromia, and Somali regions reportedly carried out attacks and killings of civilians, displacing thousands. The government took limited steps to identify and punish officials who may have committed human rights abuses. The government prosecuted some lower-level officers for abuses. #SecretaryBlinken marked that ‘’the report that we’re putting out today presents a factual, systematic account of human rights records across nearly 200 countries and territories. Each one is held to the same standard – developed and developing countries, competitors, as well as allies and partners.’’ Follow the link and read more on the 2023 human rights report for Ethiopia: https://lnkd.in/ejjGnFeq
